Pathfinder
nice pics The best is when you get to see the tub when you pull off the wrapping thats when the ahhhs come out and the customer has a big grin on their face like a kid at xmas
Richs100
Thanks for the photos. Jim is thanking you for the photos since he then took them to his tightly controlled, propagandist "forum" and is using them to 'talk smack' about your tub. What a tool. What else would you expect from some one who claims to be so ethical?  Jim, the poster said "vist my website" not "steal my pics and trash my purchase" You are a businessman and posted those pictures on your company website. I think that's pretty stupid and speaks volumes about your charecture and how you run your business. As a business owner who wants to document the competition, you'd be much better off taking your own pics of tubs and doing your own research, rather than stealing them off the internet from a private person and then making comments that the person who bought this tub is stupid. Real proffesional Jim. Real ethical. Eddie, If I were you I'd drop a note to the BBB about it's member James Arjuna. This is not how a reputable internet businees conducts itself. Spamaster101
Here is a quote from Jim's Site about Eddieb "How stupid are shoppers? Do they really fall for sale pitches?" Jim high-jacks Eddie's pictures and talk smack about him. Jim you are a completely disgusting human being!
Newbie4Now
In the spirit of the original post, Thanks again for the pictures. I hope many others will continue to share visually -- if I'm still here when I purchase (more on that below) I intend to share my delivery and installation experiences with the forum. On the off-topic (but important sub-text to this post)... Isn't Jim the guy that said (after yet another ridiculously long and thoroughly hijacked thread) that : ... This is my last day on this board. Just for laughs, maybe some of you could share some of the lighter remarks that followed his resurrection ! If the otherwise mature and beneficial "community" I've found here has allowed this man's behavior to rage unchecked for this many years, (the record of historical posts speak for themselves) I just may not have the desire to stick around here too long. Jim has been a complete distraction for me in topic after topic after topic. While I appreciate so much of the information I have gleaned from the -- mostly -- agreeable conversations, Jim's entry into a topic almost always signals the end of civility. Of course I've only been reading posts for nearly 8 hours now, but a very negative impression is hard to avoid... Unfortunately, from what I've read, it seems to have worked against the development of a larger and more involved base of end-users/consumers like myself. Mike Blute
Learn about the real man behind the insane postings. I communicate with co owners and people who have invested money in an infamous internet branders business based in CO. They keep me in the loop of some of the most stunning stories and communiqués about what’s really going on. Folks can email me at Blutemike@yahoo.com and I'd be more than happy to share some of the most insane (and sometimes to be honest, disgusting) stories about you know who. I also try to stay in touch with customers and folks who have had the "pleasure" of doing business with him. Man of God? Ha! Ethics? No Way! Solid business man? Not even remotely close. Mr. Bubbles
Eddie, I'm jealous of your set-up-and-ready-to-enjoy tub! I like the interior color you chose. As far as Jim Spa Specialist goes, I looked at his web site forum and it seems like most of the posts from 'regular people' are actually employees or family members of his...and, yeah, very uncool to say that consumers of brands other than his are stupid. And Newbie, I agree that the infighting among regular posters on this site can get rather boring to try to read through, to get to the useful info...passionate people, I suppose... Eddieb
So the deck is reinforced to handle all the extra weight? Yes, Installed four 4x4's under each corner of the tub and then ran 2x10x10 to each post under the deck. I then added extra lags to the ledger board all around the deck. Thanks Mr. Bubbles, The tub looks and feels great and it is very quiet. I love the fact that my dealer is 9 miles from my home, do you pay for that yes, its like car insurance not much good until you need it. I hope I am not stupid for buying my spa locally. I did my research for buying in the area and for my friend who brought on line now has a tub that was damaged in shipping. Who is local that he can complain to. Dealers are dropping like flies in a spray of RAID. It is stupid to buy from a dealer who is going out of business, because of how the industry is going. It is also stupid to buy a spa with an ABS acrylic shell and a bad plumbing design and a poor cheap control box. I don't understand how you people who sell this crap can live with yourselves. hottub4us
Hey Eddieb, Just joined the forum because I saw your post and photos on the Coleman 472. We are also looking at the Coleman products...either 472 or 481 model. We are leaning toward the Coleman because of it not having full foam insulation and metal frame. Question to you and others...is the concern about full foam insulation legitimate (ie locating leaks and cost of repair, insect haven and good heat source from the cabinet)? Also, could you share where you purchased the Coleman and what options you chose and why? Thanks

I don't think it is was a factor for me. I like that I can find a leak and repair it with ease after opening the well sealed panels. I went the 471 Deluxe because of the two loungers. The options were standard but I wish I had gotten the second remote panel to control water flow, but I love the tub. Take a free wet test at the The Sun Room in Ellicott City, 410-750-2828. Call John, Shannon or Rose. Great people great store to deal with. Ed 410-918-6001 if you need more info.

To sell an insulation skeem based on ease of fixing leaks is just plain stupid. If you own a FF spa you don't have to worry about leaks, na-na-na-na boo-boo. If it didn't work it would not be used. Metal frame versus wood, another non issue. Wood frame work lasts the life of almost every spa out there. How long will steel last, yep, the life of almost every spa out there. Wood rots, metal rusts. screws in wood do not vibrate and make noise. rivets in metal can come loose and make noise. What lasted longer your BBQ grill sitting on the deck made from steel or the deck it was sitting on made from wood?

What lasted longer your BBQ grill sitting on the deck made from steel or the deck it was sitting on made from wood? It should never be a derterming factor amoung *QUALITY* Spas. If you think an Arctic TP system and a Costco Tub are gonna cost the same to heat in Feb in MI you are going to be very dispointed. If you are in an area of the country that gets freezing temperatures, the quality of the insualtion is important. Full foam not done right can be a a repair nightmare, Thermal pane systems not done right will cost you an arm and a leg to heat. That's a fact and should not be glossed over for the serious high end buyer. As far as wood vs metal frame and your bar b que analogy, My wooden deck will last a lifetime. The stainless steel grill I bought at costco for $300? I'd be happy if it last 5 years. (unless you consider 5 years to be the life of a spa. I'm planning on my spa being around 10-15 years.). Insulation is an important factor of a spa. How the spa is framed and built is also inportant. I know folks who put poorly constructed tubs on their decks and the vibrations were very annoying. IF the tub is being put inside a house it could be even more of a nusicence. I know of one 2nd rate dealer here that tell his customers to put padding under the spa. Wood will all go to rot in a few years, and your hot tub will fall apart. Wait a minute. My house is framed in wood. Uh oh. I'd better move out before the whole thing falls apart on me... hottub4us
Hey thanks alot. That's where we went to check out the Coleman hot tubs. Gives us a little comfort level knowing someone went to this particular dealer. However, we can't understand why the Coleman spas did not get a Spasearch certified or approved rating. What's with that? Hey Eddieb, Just joined the forum because I saw your post and photos on the Coleman 472. We are also looking at the Coleman products...either 472 or 481 model.
