  1. Been away for a bit but while catching up noticed you'd taken the plunge -- congrats ! Notice you've subsequently posted some troubleshooting but just wanted to encourage you to post pics as well when all the kinks have been worked out... / Happy Tubbin'
  2. / Congratulations on your purchase and welcome to Hot Tubbin' / Please keep involved in the forum and, if it's possible, post some pictures once your tub's installed...
  3. Congratulations, razorbackmatt72 (!) Start a new topic when you've got your tub and don't be afraid to show us pictures... Welcome to Hot Tubbin'
  4. For pricing background, you may want to review and/or post at this specific ARCTIC PRICING topic. Just to agree with 104 Degree's advice -- spend some time with SEARCH on this forum -- it is a very capable tool and will "catch you up" very quickly with the discussions on things that matter to you...
  5. Hey Hey Love the look of that cover lifter in (SonyCameraShot) DSC00730.jpg Who's the manufacturer ? / Thanks (!) / Looks so good...
  6. Potentially off-topic, BUT... Did I hear that right ? As a potential buyer of an Arctic Spa -- this was not encouraging...
  7. I see that Dr. Spa ( you may notice that he's member # 5 ) already beat me to this, but I still want to offer a BIG WELCOME to QueenWench. If you're new to forums, you may be equally amazed or appalled by people's actions here. NO DIFFERENT THAN ANY OTHER PLACE ON THE PLANET. Simply a different type of discourse. 1. Spend a good amount of time "searching" through the forum's past [ the software is really great... ] 2. Recognize a pattern or two (or three or four) and you'll soon get a feel for "who you can trust..." 3. Don't be discouraged by the "monsters that lurk..." We (and I'm speaking as a relative newcomer who is still a SHOPPER for hot tubs) need everyone's enthusiastic participation :: that's how we ALL benefit. Welcome aboard !
  8. Personally [and this is a completely subjective observation], I was not impressed with the actual layout of the Marquis tubs -- I am going back for a wet test, though (and will report on the experience...). What I did notice was the warranty language -- It seems Very Good in this industry, especially (for anyone putting a tub in a "permanent" location who may sell their property) the fact that it's transferable. Here's the document on their site...
  9. Since I'm mining the data tonight... I have to admit I love the knack East TX Spa seems to have with photos (!) You can all rest assured that I don't have the time or inclination to investigate the board's capacity for photos tonight -- but be warned... it's coming ! / Thanks for a little humor here -- KREG seems to need it
  10. "piling on..." Welcome to tubbing -- I feel I'm almost there but that's another story (!) Always like to encourage folks (as did kengorman) to SHARE SOME PIX when you get 'em... Just a suggestion :: you may want to start a new topic (of celebration) while the 'COSTCO is GREAT crowd' battles the 'COSTCO sucks crowd' as 'the truth is probably somewhere in the middle crowd' looks on in this topic... Thank goodness YOUR tub arrived -- you've earned a free pass to the "Hot Tub Water Chemistry" forum ! /
  11. Maybe if I keep this post close to "the top," then readers will understand why I changed my signature to "if we ignore HIM..." to "if we ignore THEM..." Please : if you are going to constantly hijack threads on your own behalf (SOAKERMAN) at least do the research on who you PERSONALLY ATTACK. My observation that "you constantly preach about the superiority of your own buying decision" has been PROVEN by your attack on me. Do you really want me to post the links to all my topics ? Just to prove I'm an actual shopper ? Just to reinforce the strength of my earlier comment -- that you will constantly hijack topics just to preach COSTCO COSTCO COSTCO? Hello -- Moderators -- Anyone home ? / Advice to newcomers -- SEARCH on my username / Advice to newcomers -- SEARCH on SOAKERMAN / Make your own decision about who has an agenda and who is trying to 1. make an informed buying decision for a hot tub, OR 2. waste the time of all the readers here by constantly preaching about how smart HIS decision was... [REGARDLESS OF THE TOPIC...] / "just my 2 cents worth"
  12. Been following this thread for a while and just wanted to add my interest in the last set of questions... WATERBEAR, can you help us out on this? / Many thanks in advance !
  13. Hey hey hey Seattle Mama -- I see your topic has dissolved into another "Costco's GREAT" vs. "We're tired of hearing you preach" thread... Oh well -- I think I warned you ! At any rate, since I see you haven't checked in for a while (who could blame you?) I just want to WELCOME YOU AGAIN TO OUR INTERESTING FORUM and remind you please :
  14. Depends on the shape of your tub and and your materials preference... Personally, if you like wood I think the these look great !
  15. Had a Pacific dealer quote me 1400 for the stereo today. Another Pacific dealer packaged it in a big set of options / hard to decode the price... All these systems seem steep but I must say the sound of the Pacific was -- in MY mind -- preferable to the transducer system which I listened to in the ARCTIC spa. Meriflower reported the ARCTIC "MSRP" for the music upgrades as Wet Tunes $950 (iPod jack only) Sonic Massage $2000 (iPod jack only) Again, ARCTIC seems to have a package for everything and these prices are probably something to fight over... I found the transducers to be something like sitting on your subwoofer. The Pacific Spa (marine grade) speakers are small, mounted in pairs within two of the seats -- nice little remote and - I'm told - the system includes two small bass thrusters beneath the shell. / "reporting in"
  16. PATHFINDER / Happy to see you continue to post here... Does Soakerman remind you of anyone ? COSTCO doesn't leave a bad taste in my mouth, either. But certain I'M ON ONE TOPIC FOREVER people do (!)
  17. No pal. Your words simply played back. You are a one song Juke Box. Over and Over and Over again. Any other original thoughts? I'm sure whatever you say will begin or end with the common refrain from 100 of your other posts here -- Costco is the only way to go. Seriously... are you an officer of the company? a shareholder ? just fanatical ? What is it ?
  18. Go Go Go... The REAL SPA ENTHUSIASTS here just love to see someone "get their tub a goin'...." Here's some recent discussions you may want to review: -- Outside/Inside ? -- Ventilation requirements ? Here's an earlier thread [ caveat : I haven't read this one... ] and here's a great visual documentary : IndyBob's installation... One other "historic" post you might want to review... -- a little tent job (with pictures...) And -- incidentally -- I agree wholeheartedly with PATHFINDER. I'm building a rather large structure myself -- part of a deck addition to my home. In every way I can, I'm controlling the building (and the SPENDING) by just doing what I need to -- next year [or later ] I can always GO BACK and build upon the foundation I've created... / Good Luck / Happy tubbin'
  19. Whoever does this first -- PLEASE post the pictures for us wanna-bes...
  20. No, it means you have industry experiance AND brand experience and once people figure out who can be trusted and who can't -- your insights and input are invaluable. / "just my 2 cents"
  21. I think this is a fairly coherent thought. Of course, compared to the last post -- what wouldn't be ? / Whoa dude ... / COSTCO RuLeS ! / Anyone WiThOuT a CoStCo tUb Is JuSt a FoOl !
  22. I love when the fanatics start talking to themselves. Once again, let's try to support English as the official language of the site. There are actually English Language courses available in my Costco and Soakerman should appreciate this : they're GREAT and they're CHEAP (!) / Aren't forums fun ?
  23. I love this post ! Perhaps there's a few things missing but this is a REALLY GOOD introduction to someone considering "buying a tub." On the one hand, you think how complicated can this be ? -- after all, it's just a big bucket of warm water... On the other hand, you find out that there are a lot of variables (!) Incidentally, based on my own shopping experience [so far], here's a couple more : Bromine ? Chlorine ? Standard jets ? Stainless Steel ? Concrete pad ? On the deck ? On the ground ? Standard bottom ? "Sealed" bottom ? Standard cover ? Upgraded cover ? Cover lifter ? Really good cover lifter ? Accessories ? Premium head rests ? Hand rail ? drink tray ? blah blah blah... / Happy shopping (!)
  24. Mr Pot? Mr Kettle is calling you... My personal opinion (stated before) Costco - great prices, good products, low margin You get what you pay for. Buying something that costs less then a different thing does not imply you saved money, just that you spent less money. That could be a very good thing, or it might not matter at all. Your millage may vary. Contents may settle during shipping. Do not expose to open flames, or incinerate. This product contains a chemical known to the state of California to cause cancer. Thanks JohnInSJ -- your comments were refreshing. Just to set the record straight... I don't believe I've ever said anything to disparage COSTCO. I shop there every week (!) I Love Costco. What I don't appreciate are the "Costco Fanatics" who like to flood every topic with their "why don't you buy a tub at Costco" graffiti REGARDLESS OF WHAT THE TOPIC IS... 1. You bought a tub at Costco 2. You love it. 3. You think EVERYONE should get one. 4. It doesn't matter if they've already bought another tub or have owned a tub for years. 5. It doesn't matter what the topic is -- get down to COSTCO and check out their tubs ! PLEASE -- park your comments in the proper place -- if you don't want to start your own topic, here's one I started for you... [oops, moderators shut that down !] By the way, [just an observation] aligning yourself with JTJ is like saying "I want to be banned from this site." Be careful what you wish for... This fellow/gal may have said it best... I'm taking a pledge -- I'll get out of this topic for good / I hope the Costco fanatics will stay out of mine (!)
  25. And guess what ? The decoder rings sold at COSTCO are the best damn decoder rings sold ANYWHERE... I only wish that buying a hot tub was so easy (!)
