north
I recently bought a new house that came with a hot tub. It was installed in 1996 and is a Sunrise 799. Before I fill it up, I want to be absolutely sure that I know how to drain it afterwards. The owner's manual states that it comes with a drain valve that connects to a garden hose, but I cannot for the life of me find such a thing anywhere. Any help? RDspaguy
Post some pics of the equipment area, paperwork doesn't help us see it. It is probably a small hose coming off of the pipes near the pump and could be stuck back in a corner or have the connection on the bottom edge somewhere. It may have been removed, as they are a common leak issue. I use this. https://www.spadepot.com/Shake-a-Vac-II-Spa-Pool-Water-Vacuum-Drain-P850
ratchett
As RDSpaGuy said - don't bother with the drain on the tub - these can cause leaks over time. It's easier to simply use a long hose and pull it over the side of the tub. As long as your tub isn't the lowest spot in your yard, you'll have no problem draining the tub with gravity alone If you have a long hose, it's super simple to do without anything extra - https://www.hunker.com/12002448/how-to-drain-a-hot-tub-with-a-hose
CanadianSpaTech
I usually tell folks to have the one end lower than the spa and with the spa still running place the other end over a jet until you have water coming out the far end and then just drop the spa end down into the foot well and turn of the power to the spa.

Wasn't sure what was important to see so I took pictures of everything.
RDspaguy
Look around the very bottom edge on the outside of the spa for a hose connection. It is often at a corner near the equipment, sometimes recessed under the rounded corner cabinet. They are infrequently used and often break when fiddled with, so I would still recommend the link I posted or the hose trick suggested. Or even a cheap sump pump. Of course, disconnecting any of the threaded union connections at the pump or heater will dump it fast but will get the equipment wet. RDspaguy
That's the one I have, but they are much more expensive than the one I linked.

CanadianSpaTech
You won't find much useful information in the user manual. Post photos of the circuit board and schematic on the inside cover. If you have questions please start your own post and I am sure we can help answer any questions you might have.
