Kbigs
Hi All, I have a 2006 Calder Spa Kauai and having an issue where it’s not heating up and I have 4 dashes flashing on the display board. Also the LIM OK and HTR ON lights are not on at all. I also see the D9 light blinking on the heater relay board and D17 solid red light on the main circuit board. I’m receiving the right amount of voltage and everything is hooked up correctly. Does anyone know if this means if either my heater relay board or main circuit board are bad? RDspaguy
It could be low flow from a dirty filter or faulty circulation pump. It could be a faulty sensor. Or a circuit board issue. I would start by removing the filters.
Kbigs
Thanks. I’ve had it running without the filter for a few hours and still have the 4 dashes. Replaced the temp sensor and pressure switch. Is there a way to test the circulation pump?
RDspaguy
You should see a steady stream of champaign bubbles arcing up from the heat return. Larger bubbles that only shoot out a few inches is low flow, which could be a bad pump. They will get very hot to the touch under these circumstances. I always recommend replacing sensors in pairs, not one at a time.
Kbigs
Okay. I hear the light hum but don’t see any bubbles. And the circulation pump isn’t hot to the touch.
CanadianSpaTech
Air lock? Did you just fill it?
Kbigs
No, it’s full. When I recycle the power, the LIM OK and HTR ON light flash but then never come back on again.
Kbigs
And nothing is responsive. I only see the 4 flashing dashes on the display panel.
RDspaguy
The four dashes just indicate an error. The fact that the "lim ok" light is not on says it's either a faulty sensor or a flow issue. Couple that with no flow from the return and you have a pump problem, either an air lock or a faulty pump most likely. Test voltage to the circ pump. Kbigs
Will do thank you
Kbigs
Circ pump tested fine. After looking at my control board again to do some more research on the d17 light I noticed what looks like melted plastic and think I’ve identified the issue. cranbiz
Low voltage power supply. That could definitely be your problem.
Kbigs
Thanks. Looks like I’ll be replacing the circuit board 😩
tch280
Kbigs did the new circuit board fix the issue? I have a similar problem with my 2007 Martinique Paradise
Kbigs
Unfortunately no it didn’t resolve the issue. I think my hot tub is done. I even had 3 different hot tub companies come out. They were at a loss as well.
