Alsch
Hi, We have had our Hot Tub for a week. It has a cover lifter. We noticed yesterday when it was open that it is not level anymore. It dips down to the right. It has been right below that blind evenly across. Nothing looks loose on that side that we can tell. The clip on that side that hooks into the panel broke off when it was lifted but, it doesn’t seem like that would the reason it is crooked now. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas as to what may be causing this. We did call the service department and sent pictures they told us they are not always level and it’s normal. RDspaguy
Couldn't open the pic. If it changed significantly then something is wrong. Being unlevel is normal for those too inexperienced or lazy to do it right, but it going from level to not means something slipped or gave out. Alsch
Ok thank you for the reply. That’s what we figured but are told it’s normal.
CanadianSpaTech
photo would help. The one you posted won't open. What brand of spa would also help
Alsch
My spa is a Sundance but the lift cover I was told was a universal one.
RDspaguy
Could the screen have gone crooked? Is the deck settling?
CanadianSpaTech
With the cover closed and the lifter bar up center the cover on the spa and then lower the bar onto the cover. With the cover closed the lifter down it should sit about 3/4" back of the center crease/fold of the cover and even with the crease all the way across. If it is not even all the way across the cover from side to side you might have to remove the 3 screws from whatever side doesn't line up with the crease/fold and realign the side bar and re-attach the screws once in the proper alignment. The screws that fasten the bar going across the cover from side to side ( 2 sets of 3) should point towards the back of the spa so that when you flip the first half of the cover they do not dig into the cover. When the cover is fully open the screws should point to the ground. Very important.
