  1. Hi rewiring a new pump to hot tub and a little nut has gone down a hole is it okay in there or will the whole thing need to come apart to get it out ... fell down where the purple arrow is 😭
  2. I bought a house in Walnut Creek, California with a 2006 Jacuzzi J-325 hot tub. I wanted to shut it down for the winter so I drained the tub. The instructions then say to pull the smaller drain plug off the pump to let an additional gallon of water out. Well, I finally found that drain plug but it is down under some larger pipes and there is no way to get a grip on it. It is not coming off. The larger (white) plumbing pipes are secured to the pump by round grey fittings but I couldn't make them budge either. First question is, do I really need to drain the water from the pump? The temp gets to
  3. To fix a bogus heater limit error I finally replaced the Main PC board (Caldera #77089) on my 2004 Caldera Paradise Martinique, after having exhausted all other avenues--including replacing the heater unit. Finally, no more heater limit shutting down the heater (yay!). However, while Pump 1 can be started and run, Pump 2 does not start when the button on the Display panel is pressed. Pump 2 did work fine before replacing the board, and connecting the Pump 2 wires to the Pump 1 board tabs as a test proved that Pump 2 does still work. (There is a note associated with the 77089 boa
  4. Is circulating the pool during the hottest part of the day the best way? I was just wondering if circulating pool in heat of day (100 degrees here in Texas) would actually burn off more chlorine? Do you think running it at night and letting pool sit still during heat of day would be better? Just curious of. others opinions. Thanks John
  5. Hi I am seeking help repairing an old hot tub in Wylie TX and having trouble finding anyone. Pump works, but leaks(may need replacing). Older heater leaking at the output end(may need replacing). Brad
  6. Howdy! first time on this forum, hope everyone is having a good day. I'm trying to replace the circulation pump in a Balboa EL Neptune (pretty sure that's what its called) Original pump in Hot tub was a Waterway cp-1/15-1n22a 3410020-0E motor The pump motor specs are labeled as follows 1/8 H.P. 230v 0.8A S.F. 1 1725 RPM Continuous run time. Just about every reasonably priced pump ive found (sub $200) is rated at 1/15 H.P. Does it matter? Should I spend ~$300 to get one rated 1/8HP even if the lower HP motor has the same RPM? also the one i keep seeing (Iron Might 341
  7. Hi all, My coast spa pump 2 dies on me this week, it has been more than 10 years. I replaced the capacitor but still not working. It starts up for a second and stop. I think it is time to replace a new pump motor. I attached the label of the pump here. I can not find the exact pump, can I use a comparable pump, and thank you in advance to send me a link of one.
  8. Hey, so I have a barely 2 month old Coleman Saluspa. It's the pretty common one that holds about 1000 L and has the external pod that holds the panel and mechanical like heater and pump, attaches via three screw down connections. I know different models will have different volumes, but I used to have an mspa, and it didn't even come close to the level of noise from regular everyday operation with the heat and filter pump running. I'm talking about lid closed, correct water level, no plugs or blocked pipes, aka everything seems fine. Right out of the box from the first time it was on, it ha
  9. Hello all, I have a Viking Legend spa that was manufactured in early 2014. After changing the water, the main pump has begun to pulse and surge when the high jet is turned on. It seems to run fine in low, normal circulation mode. (The second pump seems to be running without issue.) The spa was not run without water covering all the intakes, but it was run without the filter so I could perform a deep cleaning with Spa Purge. Turning the power off and allowing the pump to re-prime did not fix it. Does this sound like an air pocket issue? If so, how do I correct it? I'm a novice, but ha
  10. I'm looking to upgrade my pool pump from a 32mm (1 1/4 inch) to accept a 50mm (2 inch) flow. I'm doing it because i want to use a heat pump (3kw hydro-s) which uses 50mm pipes. My pool is a 12ft diameter 2ft deep Jilong above ground pool with 32mm inlet and outlet (typical to intex/bestway style). I'm also upgrading filter pump to a sand filter (Hydro-Fit Filter Set) - this accepts both 32mm and 38mm. However the heat pump only accepts 50mm. I've been told about a couple of options so far: 1. (using type B adaptors at inlet/outlet and more rigid pipe) Intex type b
  11. I was gifted a 4 person ez-spa by Dream Maker, it is a little bit older and has been sitting for a couple of years without running. We cleaned it up really nice and plugged it in for a test drive and it kept tripping the breaker. After watching a few videos on you tube, and by the looks of it, I believe I need a new pump. My question is, does this type of spa require a heating element/sensor or does it require a heating pump? This is what everything looks like. It appears to me that there is not an additional heating element, just the pump, but when I look at the control panel, the
  12. I have the above hot tub and it's leaking quite badly. We've had the heater replaced and the pump is slightly leaking but not enough to explain the loss of water. We have Tri-X filters and I'm wondering: if the screw top which fixes them in place is not screwed in at all, would this would explain the leak or if the filters are damaged in any way whether the water would leak out I look forward to any thoughts. Best wishes
  13. I had a leak in the AquaFlo XP2 pump in my Morgan Oceanside Spa. The leak was between motor and the wet end. I ordered a seal kit from amazon and received it yesterday. I closed the slice valves and started to remove the pump, but a significant amount of water started draining and did not stop promptly, like the valves didn't close. So I drained the tub, removed motor and wet end, and separated the two. I found a great video on youtube from Spa Superman describing this process. The motor and pump are relatively new; only 2-3 years old, so everything came apart easily. The impeller was a little
  14. I have a Polaris PB4-60 cleaner booster pump running my Polaris pool cleaner. It's worked fine for about 5 years and this year it won't turn on. It doesn't make any noise with power applied (no humming), it's just totally dead. Also, the pump was not running when it died. I just went to switch it on at the start of the season and no luck. This is the second PB4-60 pump in 10 years that has died like this, the last time I just replaced the whole pump but I'm wondering if anyone knows of an easy fix or troubleshooting guidance to see if there's a repair I can attempt. I've seen lots of YouT
  15. Help! I've tried everything I know of. I just installed a new Waterway Executive pump to replace my old one. I filled the spa though the filter inlet as I usually do. I power up and temp comes on, heater comes on for just a minute or so, (pump does not come on!) then I get the error codes...SN (sensors out of balance) or DR (inadequate flow or air bubbles). Pump has yet to come on. Water comes out when I loosen the lines at the pump. I usually get these error codes when I refill, but it only happens once then it will start after a second try. This time though, with the new pump, something is
  16. Hi, I have a 2002 Clearwater Spas St Andrew, it has 2x 3HP Waterway pumps (2-speed, 3721221-1D) and a Balboa SUV M7 control board. Pump 1 acts as circulation pump on low speed. Pump 1 recently failed, which also popped one of the two 25A TD Fuses on the board. I replaced Pump 1 and the fuse with new units, but the pump will not come on in low-speed mode, which is what circulates the water through the heater, so the spa is still unusable. You hear the board relay click when the low-speed should come on, but nothing happens. It works fine in high speed mode. If I swap Red and Black, it wi
  17. Greetings. I have Sundance Majesta that needs a replacement pump. The rubber mounts have torn and need replaced. They are just like these, which I've purchased 4 replacements as well. The threaded metal "bolt" isn't one piece. There is a top and bottom "bolt" with the thick rubber bushing between them. But, I can't seem to get the 4 old "stems" out of the wood floor (the rubber bushing and top bolt have broken off and been removed). Any suggestions on how to remove these old stems? Can't get enough "bite" from channel locks. I assume they just unscrew from another threaded metal piece pr
  18. Hi there, I have aquired a Chinese unbranded hot tub that is approx 8 years old. It had been standing drained and unused, for approx 6 months before we got it but was assured it worked before being drained. After making all the electrical connections it was tripping the RCD. I have disconnected all the pumps and heater from the relay board and the control panel now powers up fine. I have however tested the relays with a multimeter and it appears that they are stuck on closed (powered). I have concerns that the pumps ( Whirlpool LP200) are also faulty as they appear to have continuity on the c
  19. I have a 2004 or 2005 Caldera Aquatic Melodies Elation Spa. 1. I have several jets that have lost parts (the center is gone out of a Euro Pulse jet, some small ball bearings came out of a VersaSsage Jet, etc. I cannot figure out how to remove the jets to replace or repair them. The videos I have seen show them being twisted counter-clockwise past the adjustment stop-point, then pull out, but these jets are all counter-sunk into the tub walls and there is no way to get a good grip on them to turn them hard enough.... is there a tool that is specifically for this, or am I going to have to ri
  20. New Artesian Island Elite spa. How to determine the Optimum Circulation Pump Setting For Captiva Elite for 2 ppl?. Default is 12+12 hrs (24hrs 7 days a week) - always on. Seems like for warmer months 8 and 8 with two 4hr breaks (or perhaps even 6 and 6) would extend pump life with nominal effect on heating and filtering. During Winter I would reset to run 12+12 to allow continual low level heating. Looking for optimum power efficiency and pump life. Thoughts?
  21. I have a pretty old (1998) California Cooperage tub, Model 105. Replaced the pump and heater last year and all was working perfect, up until a couple weeks ago. The filter cycle, which normally runs for 3 hours every 12 hours, has been cycling ON and OFF constantly during that 3 hour period... For example, during the 3 hour filter cycle, the pump (and sometimes the heater) will run for only about 2 minutes, then will shut off for about 20 minutes. This happens constantly throughout the 3 hour period. I initially though it was the pump overheating, but it does not get hot and there are
  22. I bought a used 2003 Sundance Altamar spa. Everything seems to be working except the main 2 speed pump. It is supposed to kick on when the heater is on occasionally and I can hear it trying to but it won't start. It hums a couple seconds then quits. It seems like a breaker iis kicking or something. After a few minutes it will try again with the same result. The pump spins fine by hand and doesn't seem to be restricted so I took off the run capacitor and tried to check it with an ohm meter. The readings seem to go up while the meter is on it and hold voltage . If I discharge it then it begins
  23. I have a 2003 Sundance Altamar. Awhile back my blower stopped working, but I never used it, so just left that alone. However yesterday I tried to turn on the main pump (2 speed one) and the indicators light up on the display, but pump doesn't come on. I hear a low humming/buzzing instead. Is the pump dead? If so, I know the part to replace it with (Jacuzzi 6500-261) but I'm also curious if I could just replace it with a 1 speed pump and save money. I never run it in low speed anyway, so having a single speed would be fine. That leads me to 2 questions.... 1. Will it mess up the board in any
  24. We recently bought a Masterspa LSX from about 2004. The circulation pump had been completely rusted and seized, so after replacing it and fixing a few leaks, it seems to run good as new. I noticed on the control board dip switches there is a setting for the circ pump to only run when the temperature falls below 3 degrees of the setpoint. The manufactures default setting is to run 24 hours. I changed the switches according to the setting for the 3 hour temp threshold, reset the breaker, and waited, but it still runs constantly despite the temperature. Am I missing a step here? Thank you for you
  25. Are these things standard size? Can I get these at Home Depot?
