Advice on 110v hook up

Just had a tub given to me.

The heater/control can be wired either 240 or 110.

It's a gecko aweare

I wired it 110 and the control lights up and the lights work but neither of the pumps will run.

The pumps both say 230v on them.  Does this mean I will have to run 230v circuit to it?

I would really like to see if the pumps work before I spend that kind of money running that wire.

Thanks

Mark
