  1. Actually I found the solution but I still need handymen's help! There is a zipper that allowed me to remove the EPS foam insert. I salvaged the 4 metal plates from the old cover. I will glue the metal plates on the EPS insert of the new cover. Questions: What kind of glue should I use to bond EPS and metal? they also seems to use a sort of tape (G on the picture) The used a mesh fabrix to reinforce the EPS: What is it? Fiber glass mesh?? (M on the pics)
  2. I needed a new cover and I could not wait for the 20 w leadtime at Hotspring. I ordered a cover at MyCoverSpa and just received it after 5 weeks. It looks great and totally identical to my current cover. Except it doesn't have the metal plates for the lifter mount!.. 😞 The Model is Hotsping Jetsetter Model J with a Cover Cradle 2 lifter. Would anyone have a suggestion to salvage this new cover? - Screw in the EPS foam with longer screws (or insert a rod) and use some kind of glue/celant? - Glue (+ screw) metal plates on the vinyl cover... - Cut the cover to add the metal plates (How the are the original plate attached? glued, screwed?) - Add a brace around the cover... Any suggestions ? (Indeed I could trash it and order an new one! But this is a question for a good creative handyman on how I could save the situation!! I know I should have ordered the metal plate and I didn't. So no need to remind me this painful part!)
  3. I also needed a new cover and could not wait for the 20 weeks Leadtime at Hotspring. I ordered a cover at MyCoverSpa and just received it after 5 weeks. But I realize I don't have the metal plates for the lifter mount!. Interestingly my current old cover actually does not have metal plates (screws are just in the foam through the Vinyl..) in it and it worked fine and survived over 10 years. What should I do ? - Screw in the EPS foam and use some kind of glue/celant - Glue (+ screw) a metal plate on the cover... Any idea ? (The Model is Hotsping Jetsetter Model J with a Cover Cradle lifter)
  4. I had a minor leak to fix in my HotSpring JetSetter. (Couldn't find it) I bought a 8 oz bottle of "Fix a Leak. The Only One". Followed the instructions: Top the SPA level, lower the heater at 80F (min), poured ~2-3 Oz in the SPA after removing the filters. Let run the pump for 12 hrs. The leak seems to be fixed. But the SPA temperature is now 45C / 115F (command is still on 80F) and the Ready indicator lamp is blinking. Manual trouble shouting section says "Temperature sensor problem". I am guessing that this great Fix a Leak product clogged the temperature sensor. - Where is the sensor located? - How do I fix that? Should I open and clean it? - Is there any other parts that need to be unclogged (like the ozone sanitizer)? Thank you! Serge
  5. Hi, I have a Hotspring Jetsetter (Model J)The Red Power light is on. the Green Ready light is on until 82F. If I select 83F and temperatures above 83F, the Ready lamp is off. No blinking lamps. And the water remains warm (after a week it reaches about 90F)Thanks to Amos' help: We found a fried relay contacts. I fixed the relay board with a new relay. (The old relay still worked and the new one works...)I checked the voltage out of the relay board: It sends 110V to the heater. The heater doesn't heat much: Water out of the pump is just warm (~90F) not hot. But not completely cold. The 2 LED on the controller board are on (LIM OK & HEATER ON)I measured the resistance of the heater and I found 0 Ohms! (I was expecting 9 Ohms... R=V/I. 6kw) But I plugged the heater directly in the 110V with a cord I created: The breaker did not trip. What do I check next? I guess I need to get a better multimeter and do an amp reading on the heater right? Or The High-Limit Thermistor? Thanks for your helpPictures posted here: https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/wan/6099854006.html
