rmcderm313
Hi All, I'm replacing a jet pump and I'm curious about how to handle the prime barb/hose. My new pump did not come with a barb. Is it possible to move it from the old pump to the new pump? Or is that not advised? Is it normally installed with a silicone adhesive or just a sealant? I want to make sure I have a barb ready if I can't transfer it, that is why I'm asking the question instead of just trying. When installing, what is the advised sealant to use on the threads if any? Thanks, Rob
CanadianSpaTech
Swap it over if needed no sealant required but make sure the o ring gets transferred over as well. You could use a wrap of Teflon tape but it is not required. Don't over tighten it or it will break.
rmcderm313
@CanadianSpaTech I'll take 'I told you so' for $1,000 Alex... I guess I tightened it a hair too much. I put a plug in place of the prime tube for now. How important are these primer tubes?? Thanks, Rob

Always best to do the job right if possible.
