Per1
Hi all I am new to this forum, so be gentle!! Last year when I moved house the owners left their hot tub as part of the deal. I haven't used the tub, and the previous owners weren't that helpful when it came to the sale, so I am not really sure if it works- I am assuming it has worked as it did have water in it when I viewed the house, but it wasn't switched on. I am not sure if it is or isn't working which is why I am posting here for some advice. I haven't filled the spa with water yet, but when I switch the power on, I can't control any of the functions - I can't set time, switch on the radio etc. Does anyone have any information on this spa? The manual left behind is typically somewhat badly written/translated from Chinese. Is it possible that the system won't respond to the controls until there is water in the system? Is there a sensor in most spa's that stops switches being switched on so as to avoid damaging pumps etc? I am new to all this, so any advice, recommendations, suggestions (other than buy a new tub) would be hugely appreciated. I am based in the UK. Cheers Per
PreservedSwine
Do NOT turn it on without water. Fill it up first, then energize it, and see if it works.
Per1
Many thanks - I thought that was the case as a safety measure. Will fill the tub and see that everything works, and to clear out pumps etc, before refilling, dosing and heating the water. amber-monalisa
Hi per, hope everything works for your hot tub. If not, you'd better ask help from the original supplier. We have hot tub manual, but not sure if it is right for you. But as spare solution, you can ask me if you need it.
PreservedSwine
It's not a safety measure. It's like starting your car with no oil. It's so you don't damage the pump and heater.
Per1
Hi per, hope everything works for your hot tub. If not, you'd better ask help from the original supplier. We have hot tub manual, but not sure if it is right for you. But as spare solution, you can ask me if you need it. I can't get anything from the original supplier as they are bankrupt and didn't have a very good reputation here in the UK with hundreds of customer complaints. I have contacted a specialist hot repairer and he will have a look and give me a quote to repair. If it is the electronics, the it could be £1000 to £1200, so need to think if it is worth repairing or getting rid of! If you have any service manual I would be happy to receive a copy from you. Thanks. Per

Roger
Hey someone from a Chinese manufacturer. Question for you Are your Hot Tubs UL listed? A yes or no answer will be enough.
Per1
Hey someone from a Chinese manufacturer. Question for you Are your Hot Tubs UL listed? A yes or no answer will be enough. What does UL listed mean? The model I have seems to still be available from China, but to importers, so anyone looking to import in bulk, not just one. Even if they answer yes, I'd get their UL or ETL registration information and verify it with the testing lab. John

Andybrown
Hi, I have just got one of these hot tubs myself, there are 2 little metal pins near the filter. These need to be under water otherwise the hot tub will not work. Do you still have your manual as I do not have one ? Regards Andy
