Help Please, Older Analog Balboa 2000 Question.

I have an older Thero Spa with a Balboa 2000 R1A board.

The top panel has four buttons with an large Analog temperature knob (pot).

After resetting (disconectting power for 30 minutes) and turing power back on, the controls work fine for a few days.

Then, the "Standard" and "Economy" top panel lights start to flash alternately.

The temp pot seems to be stiffer and harder to adjust also.

I checked the temp adjust pot with an analog ohm meter and it seems to be fine.

No flat or dead spots.

Any suggestions?

You might need to replace the board and topside with a digital duplex since balboa stopped making the analog with the adjustable temp knob about 10 years ago

I tried removing the temp sensor (not high limit sensor) and it was stuck in the sensor mount.

I cut the wires at the sensor and drained enough water to remove the mount from the hot tub.

The sensor mount was so filled with corrosion that the sensor would not even twist in the mount.

(The mount is made of metal rather than plastic or nylon and was corroded all the way through).

Anyway, I have no doubt that I found the trouble.

I put the housing and the sensor in a pan of water heated it up.

Using my Simpson ohmeter, the resistance didn't change going from 50 degree water to 110 degree water.

Now I have to find a new housing and temp sensor.

This is what I need...along with the housing.
