Microewe Posted July 26, 2022 Report Share Posted July 26, 2022 I purchased a used Hawkeye spa 2012 used non functional, worked on by previous owner. I reinstalled new EL8000 M3, ML900 w 4 Jet lable, and 53680 expander board. 4 pump system. All pumps and systems function as they should except pump 4. Pump 1 two spd, pump 2,3,4 one spd 240VAC. Dip switch config A1 off 2,3 on 2,5,6,7,8 off 9 on 10,11, 12 off B1 on 2,3 off 4,5 on 6,7 off 8,9,10 on 11,12 off. With the expander board connected white lead J95 240 VAC black lead J33 12 V and Exp I/O connected. When powered up systems start relay clicks and then expander board relays continous clicking, no pump 4 activity. continous clicking will stop when EXP I/O is disconnected. Have verified pump 4 is operational by swapping connections on main board pump 1. I'm missing some config and can't find any additional info on balboa site. Thanx in advance for any help. I reinstalled new EL8000 M3, ML900 w 4 Jet lable, and 53680 expander board." I am pretty familiar with the EL 8000 board but only up to the three pump standard config. I've had it in several other large tubs before. The module and control setup is the orignal config, but with new modules, before the orignal owner canabilized the unit. The orginal problem per the previous owner was, no flow, no heat. All the dip switches we turned off. I corrected the base line dip switch config and reset the sensors, power cycled the unit and cleared the error on the orignal EL8000 M3 board. The orignal expansion module was water damaged. I ordered and installed a new expansion module and installed. Did not work. I ordered and installed a new EL8000 M3 and installed per factory default config. I then added step by step the additional configs, ie 2 spd pumps vs 1 spd pumps, 4 pump amperage etc. Everything works as it should except pump 4. I ordered and installed a new control panel with 4 jet button config. Still no pump 4 operation. I reset the EL8000 dip config to factor default The expander board and 4th pump is the problem I am trouble shooting. On the ML900 when you push the jet 4 button, I can hear a relay on the EL8000 module clicking, but not sure which one. But think it is a low current relay to control the EXP control via the control cable to the expansion card. I'll crack it open again tomorrow and get a pic. and try B6 and B12 config. EL8000 55064-01_97_A.pdfUnavailable I did try that and it works, but is only a 10 amp relay, and disconnected after the test. I connected pump 4 to J9, Mister, and pushed jet 4 and it worked. It shouldn't have as that is the mister connector. I then relaized that there is a new control module, main module and expander board. No orignal software config! I'll need to default the dips to baseline and then reconfig software to the orignal state. My error, I totally forgot that with all the new componest there was no orignal software config, go figure. I'll leave the pump 4 in J9 as that is a 20 amp relay and safe there. More to come, thanx for the input and direction, really appreciated.
