Leisure Bay spa loses power to control board

Recommended Posts

So I don't know anything about a hot tub much.  I'm very technically inclined though.  I got this tub for free, which seems to be the Leisure Bay S3 from what I can tell.  It comes on and starts heating up, and will stay on for 10 mins or so, then it shuts off.  Like you killed the power. Nothing showing on the little display. Breaker isn't tripped, and I've noticed I can bump the control panel, and it comes back on.  Then does the same thing.  I've also notice it doesn't take much (bumping the control panel or even pushing a button) to make it shut down again. I am assuming this means the control panel is bad, and I need to replace it, but wanted to hear from some other folks before I did this.  Could it be the cable and not the control panel?  It's not throwing any codes on the display before shutting off

Open the control box and post a pic of the circuit board.

Turn off power. Disconnect the topside controller from the circuit board. Turn on power. It should start up after a few minutes and run automated functions. If it then shuts down as before it is the circuit board or breaker, if not it is the topside.
