Stillwaters123
Hello! My Hot Springs has stopped working. Earlier this winter I noticed the red light blinking, the power tripped at the breaker, and the water was cold. Based on online forums, I figured that it was likely clogged filters or an air bubble in the pumps. I cleaned all the filters, put a hose down the main filter to force water into the pumps, and it worked! I restarted the unit, it heated back up. All set. Now the problem has happened again however, just 2 months later. I reset the power at the breaker, cleaned out the filters, and put the hose down the main filter. When the hose was in the filter, I could turn on the pumps and everything was working fine, for more than 10 minutes. Unfortunately, when the tub was full and I removed the hose, the pumps would run for a bit, then after about :60 seconds the pumps would stop, the breaker would trip, and the light flashes red. I tried multiple times (reset the breaker, run the pumps, would work for about :60 seconds, then trip the breaker and red light flashes.) I also removed all of our filters and tried to run this, just to make sure that the problem wasn't dirty filters, and the same thing happened. Any suggestions on what I should do next? I've been following the forums but I don't see any suggestions after the steps I took above. Thanks!
RDspaguy
Sounds like your circulation pump is out.
Stillwaters123
Thanks! That's what I was thinking. I've watched a few videos and it looks pretty straight forward to replace. Anything tricky or unexpected I might need to know before I give it a try?
RDspaguy
Not much to it. Changing the cord can be a PITA, so get the right one for your spa.
