Susanj
We have a 375 gallon hot tub. How long does it take yours to heat up on a refill?
Cusser
From ambient, say 60F water, takes my spa (40 amp, 240 volts, 1988 CalSpa) a few hours, definitely less than six. With cover on, of course.
Susanj
Are you in a warm climate? I wonder what hose temperature is different parts of the year.
Susanj
I think our water is around 50 year round coming out of the tap/hose. And the spa is well insulated so time of year shouldn't matter.
Tubber49
Is it a 220v spa or 110v? Makes a huge difference in heat up time after refill. There are average numbers out there on the web and I believe a 110v heats about 1 1/2 degrees an hour, which the math works correctly for my 110v. Susanj
And what about for a 220?
wish2fish
I can't help as I have a 110 tub and it takes a long time to heat from ground temp water. My solutions: I have a continuous hot water heater. If drain and refill, I lower my temp to 104 at the heater and run a really long hose from basement stationary tub. water ready to go immediately. If low because of power issue or shutdown, I raise the water temp to 130 at the heater and hot water 5 gallons at a time. to increase temp
Susanj
I shouldn’t have taken the salesman’s word for it . He said 8 hours. When I called the manufacturer she said 3-5 degrees / hour, so that’s 10-18, and it seems we’re on the longer end.
