Tripp
Hi - I finally bought a solar blanket after a couple years of learning and getting fed up of heating my back yard instead of my pool (haha!). As I've never used a solar blanket before just a couple questions to help educate myself. First a couple facts: the pool is an in-ground 18x38 with salt water system. Now my questions: 1) With the solar blanket on, can I operate my my pump in order to circulate the water, re: the chlorinator. 2) With the solar blanket on, can I operate my pool heater (natural gas) in order to up the water temp. I know taking the blanket off when the sun is out is the best and economical way to heat the pool. However, I'm thinking of about 2 summers ago with a cool summer and lots of cloud, is this a good way to heat the pool (blanket on, and using the heater) when the sun is hiding, thereby keeping the heat in the pool? Thanks in advance for any insight!!!
PoolGuyNJ
Keeping the blanket on when not swimming or performing maintenance is best unless the water temp has exceeded your comfort zone.. Sun or not. Pump on or off. Scott
