Chlorine Or Bromine?

Everybody likes different things.

I like Ozone, AG+ and MPS. My spa has 24 hour circulation.

Any tablet is going to be acidic. Bromine tabs about a 3 on the pH scale and chlorine tabs about a 1.

Brilliance is a Bromine in a floater that has no chlorine and is almost pH neutral.

Before ozone I always used granular Dichlor.

Unless our customers have a preference for something else, we typically recommend the use of Ozone, AG+, and Dichlor (Spa Chlorine). That is what works best for us and our customers.

Personally, I don't like the tablet method in hot tubs. Chlorine Tablets truly should not be used in residential spas. However, many manufacturers will allow you to use Bromine Tablets (see your manual). There's not always an exact science to tablets. They're intended to give you a slow dissolve rate, to maintain a minimal residual of Bromine in the water. The down side of this, is that many folks use tablets as a "set it and forget it" utility. However, without routine adjustments or the addition of Brominating Concentrate (granular, quick dissolve bromine) your bromine levels can easily drop below desire levels or to zero after or during soaking periods. You end up using granular bromine anyhow to instantly supplement your tablets. Also of note, as Peteyboy suggested, Bromine tablets are highly acidic, and commonly cause low pH and low Alkalinity problems.

So for me, I prefer the granular quick dissolve formulas. Dichlor, or Bromine granules are my preference.

I have used trichlor pucks in a floater for 20 years and have had NO issues.

+ Non-chlorine shock

+ PH adjustment

THATS IT!

BTW my water looks like drinking water and smells fresh & clean.

You must be adjusting the pH pretty often. Trichlor pucks are VERY acidic.

Can this method be used with the Peak Ozone system by Arctic?

Yes.

My spa has an ozone generator and the dichlor then bleach method works just fine.
