Thank you for the reply I can see the waterway emblem but unfortunately not a part number. I have seen elsewhere that waterway have stopped making a number of jets including the swirling type I am after. These are my favourite ones because of the deep hard massage they give. Im just hoping I can find someone that has old stock

Im still searching for waterway clip in jets and one of the internet searches came up with Master Spa jets these look the same. Can anyone confirm that they will fit.

I have not been on this forum for a long time. I have have a LA Spa HEET 2006 model and now some of the jets require replacing, I live in England and a supplier of spare parts has told me there is a shortage of Waterway jets in Europe. Can anyone recommend a reputable supplier of jets in America? Thanks

We have had our La spa HEET for nearly 4 years and have no regrets. I did not wet test the models you are looking at but we did wet test the Esteem which is slightly smaller than our HEET. Have you wet tested those models yet? I cannot comment on the prices because I live in England.

I have not been on this forum for a while and the first thing I see is a story about a dealer trying to sell a spa by trying to knock another manufacturer. I am not an expert but as far as I understand it a pump should have two intakes on different planes. I would always stick with a dealer who did not have to make accusations or put down another manufacturer.

I fill mine from a garden hose and it usually takes about 4 hours.

If you are like me and prefer to use your spa with the pumps running then the bills will be higher, generally motors tend not to be very efficient especially powerful ones. Some spas cost more than others to run and a big factor to this is the rating of the pumps. I have seen spas that are only rated at 13 amps these are not very powerful and should be cheaper to run. As mentioned before try cutting down on your filter cycles and do not run the pumps all the time you are in, however some people like me do not like sitting in just still water.

Not sure how your spa is insulated. But a few questions Do you have a cover? How many pumps does it have? How powerful are the pumps? How often do you use it with the pumps on?

To put your mind at rest we have had our cover lifter screwed to our cabinet from the day it was installed. The screws have not worked loose and it is secure today as it has always been. We had our spa installed in April 2007.

Spatech Thats a good in depth answer, but I suppose we will never know the true answer because we are not going to be shown manufacturing costs. I suppose it does not really matter because it gives people a choice. njmurvin Not sure why a spa manufacturer would have two different shells, they would most probably use the same and just fill the cavity, but then I am just guessing at that.

I would of thought that making an acrylic shell then applying fibreglass and hand rolling it would be more expensive, and time consuming, as opposed to making a shell and then spraying foam. Mikey thats the first time I have heard that full foam plays no part in supporting the shell, could you confirm that if all the foam was removed from these spas the shell would then support the weight of water and people. I am not involved in the manufacturer of spas like some of you maybe. So I have not got access to the costs for labour and materials. There are a number of spa manufacturers that have been around for over 30 years now, and even though they do things differently, they must be doing it right to still be in business.

I did not say it was cheap to fill a spa with foam. What I did say was it could be cheaper overall and by that I meant a manufacturer could use a thinner shell and not back it with fibre glass for support, instead they could use foam to support the shell. I still think that two or three inches of good quality foam is enough, afterall my hot water cylinder has about this much of sprayed on foam around it and the temperature in this is hotter than a spa. Overall its just personal preference, a couple of years ago I checked the energy consumption of my spa by direct measurement and I did not find it excessive. In fact the pumps when running will use a lot of energy.

Its just that spa manufacturers decide to support spa structures differently. It can be cheaper to make a spa with full foam, because the costs can and are saved elsewhere mainly on the shell.

That must of been a misquote because my dealer told me that LA Spas started in the 1970's. I just checked on their website and it was in 1976 when they started.

No. Mine has foam sprayed all around the shell and it has perimeter insulation.

It will go out of the sides if there is no insulation. LA Guy is still buying spa with insulation just not full foam. If the salesman wanted to earn a bit extra he would of tried to talk him into buying the full foam option. The cover will therefore make a difference, I know when I upgraded mine it reduced energy consumption.
