Sorry to dredge up OLD items here, BUT... Had this exact problem and did a search. This was first thing to pop up and was exactly my problem. Read this and then went out and removed the outer cover, then the control panel cover and saw nothing burned or obvious. unplugged the Ozone and the blower. Breaker held. Then reconnected the Ozone and it still held. I just taped off the terminals to the blower and covered it all back up to see how well it will continue to hold. I think thats it! Mostly due to the fact that as OP stated it would pop now and then but as of this AM it would not hold at all. Instant pop. Now it holds even after going through the auto clean cycle. Looking to clean up and change the water on my Tub for the cooler weather. I Have not "flushed" it in about 3 years. Im thinking that would be a good idea just for good measure. Maybe Flush, Then Super Chorinate, rinse and refill. What do yall think is the most effective Flush product? TIA, Don

Getting ready to do a water change and clean up to get ready for the fall and winter seasons. What do yall find to be the best spa flush product to use? I am not having any problems that I know of. We have not been using the tub since it has been hotter than normal here. Just wanting to get it tuned up and ready for cooler weather.

update, Found the Devcon and ordered it. Hopefully I can get it to where it needs to be. The leak is at a manifold of 6 lines. It is leaking near the top of one of the center 2. Thus surrounded on 3 sides by other lines....

I don't like the zip-patch. I've used DEVCON epoxy (DA291) with excellent results, repairing everything from leaky glue joints, to thermoplastic shell cracks, to cracked PVC. Typically, if the fitting is easily replaceable, I'll just replace it. But if replacing the cracked fitting entails removal of other parts and plumbing that I consider too time consuming, applying some DEVCON works virtually every time, with very little mess, and very little cure time. It can turn several hours of scraped knuckles cutting out good fittings simply because of their proximity to the broken part.... into just a few minutes. I have a leak around glue joint and would like to get some of the Devcon DA291. Can anyone tell me where to find it?

I have been on this site awhile and only used the Spa portion as we currently have a hot tub. Wife and I went and looked at another house the other day and it has an above ground steel wall round pool in the ground and back filled. There is a narrow deck all the way around and the walls do come above the ground and the deck so no worries of ground water entering the pool. The pump has a manufactured date of November 2004. The pump and filter are place up by the house and plumbed underground much like an inground pool would be. My questions are.... 1. Is this acceptable and a good idea? 2. What would be the expected life of this pool in that situation? (and is it longer or shorter than normal?) 3. Any other feedback about this set-up and what to look/watch for. Thanks in Advance, Don

I replaced my cover last fall with one from Roberts Hot tubs. Roberts Hot Tubs. I have been very pleased with it.

My experience is much the same. Its hot water related not chemical.

i cup per 5 gallons water for either TSP or diswasher powder. You need enough to completely submerge the filter. Let it soak overnight and then hose it off well. Perfect answer waterbear. I will find a container that it will submerge in (possibly a Cooler as suggested on another thread) and do just that. Thanks to all for the replies and help!

You may look up Eczema as well. Symptoms are a little different but treatment is much the same. I have developed this. After much of the same things you are going through and searching I came to this conclusion. I find that when it breaks out a steriod cream will heal it. BUT if I use a Moisturizing lotion on a daily (even 2x day is better) it keeps it in check most of the time.

Im sure its on the label but..... What is the suggested method of use of this product? Mixing rate? (Im wondering about the 1# or the 4.5# box) If soaking, how long is reccommended? Or do you just spray it on and rinse? My tub has one large filter. I have two of them so as to be able to just replace it then clean the other and let it dry. Thanks, Don

Hello all, I have read on here of a common chemical available from hardware stores that does a good job of cleaning the paper filters. I cant find anything on it right now. If you could let me know what it is, I would appreciate it. TIA, Don

I came here for some of the same info. I have read on here that Roberts Hot tubs does a good job on covers also. Not trying to Hijack this thread but if others could respond as to which options are worth the money and which are not. I live in Western Tennessee near Memphis. Our temps swing a bit more than the ones in So Cal. We saw a few days this year at 100 degrees and in the winter will see several nights below freezing. Snow and Ice accumulation is seldom a problem here. My tub is positioned out side with no roof covering. I use a covermate I lifter also. If others could comment and maybe address both climates would be much appreciated. Some of the ones I wonder about are: 2# cores? Closed Cell foam blanket? Reinforced Hinge? Reflex lining? I just open mine up and use bleach with a rag or towel. Soak the rag and wipe the area down. Leave it open in the sun till it dries and bingo. Works for me...

First off, my replies are from reading here and my limited knowledge of owning a tub for less than a year now. 1. I have ozone and think it does help. Its honestly hard to tell for sure since Ive never had one without it. 2. Search for the Dichlor then bleach method posted by "Nitro". Its a simple but effective method of managing your water sanitation. 3. Not sure about all that. I just bleach scrubbed mine and left them a bit faded, after all it is outside and used. 4. YES. Look for "Spa Flush". Also check out posts by "Nitro" again and see his "decon" thread for the decontamination process. Enjoy your tub!!!

First you should determine why you are itchy! Is it the chemicals, Bacteria, or just the heat. I had a similar problem and still do. After reading tons here and playing with all the chemicals, (i use the Dichlor then bleach, with a nature 2 backup) It became apparent that I have a problem with the heat. It would make my skin dry, itchy, and even break out with bumps at times. Since I narrowed it down, I have discovered that when i get itchy, I can just use a moisturizing lotion and fix the problem if I stay on top of it. A regular rub down in the itchy areas takes care of the itcy feeling and keeps me soaking and not chasing chemical issues. Do you own search here about itch. Also check out sites about Excema (sp). Sounds like its time to find some one else to negotiate with!!!! If they are like that before the sale..... I cant imagine how they would be if there is any problems later! Just my .02

My guess would be you have the wrong filter, or are missing some kind of hold down with a cap. ??? I cant see any water going into the filter if it can flow right over the top. You know the old path of least resistance thing..... As prior poster said, Mine does draw from the foot well as well as the filter area when the main jets are running. But only pulls from the filter for the 24 hr circulation pump. Im sure someone more knowlegeable will be along soon and set us all straight!

Sound like an air lock to me. Try removing the outlet tube to the circ pump and see if water will flow. If so let it fill the pump and try again. Im betting that will do the trick! Congrats!
