Basic questions....Is it really necessary to turn off the generator to add balancing chemicals, specifically pH up or down, algacide, calcium, etc. How long does the generator have to be off after adding stuff? and finally, is the only way to turn off the generator to turn choringe production to 00? thanks for the help. Pool Clown Posted June 27, 2009 Report Share Posted June 27, 2009 I have not heard of having to turn the unit off while adding chems. Only when adding salt.
