jjfromtheburgh
Can someone recommend where I can purchase a new motor for my spa pump? It's a two speed, 5HP motor. I would like for it to be from a reliable online source and not some fly by night operation.

jjfromtheburgh
I have a 450 gal gulf coast spa. Gulf Coast is out of biz so i have to purchase one on my own. The manufacturer of the motor is Marathon. What concerns me about ordering another Marathon motor is that this one is only 9 mos old. This will be the second motor i had to replace. The first one went bad within 6 mos. I took a picture of it but don't know how to post it here.

I do not know anything about these retailers http://www.google.com/products?q=vico+spa+...=1&ct=title The one thing you have to watch about some online pumps is some places put the wet end on a motor for you, which is OK just that a pre assembled pump from Vico or Aqua flo has a longer warranty. Vico products are made Balboa Water Group and Aqua Flo by Gecko. You also will need to know what size pipe you have, I am guessing at 2 inch because of the HP rating and that is almost the norm for newer spas. Also look at the motor name plate to match up the correct voltage and amps. Since spa pumps can be relabelled if you amp rating is 3.5/12 and the HP rating has ---- on the lablel it is probally on a 3 hp
soakerguy
I would call 1-8 7 7 - 5 3 0 - P A R T S http://www.hottubparts.com/ and i think they will have the gulf coast spa parts you are looking for. I have orderd from them and that are competent and reliable to order from. They knew the exact replacement parts I needed For my Hydrospa and even told me how to install the parts! I would call and ask about the Gulf Coast spa parts and see if they deal with them.
otis_skywalker
Sounds to me like you got other issues going on, There's no reason to toast 2 pumps in nine months... You might want to check the line voltage going to the spa, If it's low you'll just keep having issues. btw, What part of the burgh you from?
