epco1
I have my new J-345 being installed tuesday and i was wondering how much room does the cover lifter take up? Distance tub needs to be from wall?
Dr. Spa
Depends on the cover lifter.
Shaamus
Doc's right that it depends on the lifter. Most of the makers and resellers publish the clearance information.
Stuart A
This was a concern of ours, but a quick call to the dealer and he gave us the dimensions, and we added a bit to be sure.
ChicagoMike
We just got a J-280 and a covermate lifter. The dealer said 20", but I am glad I measured before filling with water. 10"-12" is more like it. I know he was covering his a**, but deck space is tight and I can't have it that far out from the railing if it doesn't need to be.
Newbeme
Our's is 18" out from the wall and when the cover goes back the straps just barely graze the wall.

ChicagoMike
I should have mentioned when mine was delivered, the put the cover lifter on and as we saw there was additional space, the guys shoved it back a little. After they left, I felt there was still too much room so I was alone able to shove it a little further back. So what I mean is wait until the set it up and install the lifter to make the final call. Urbane Lion
18" on my Arctic Spa with a cover that's 5" thick. Fits just perfectly!
