Does Non-chlrine Shock Disapate Granular Chlorin?

watebear is correct that with MPS there is not an immediate drop in chlorine levels -- that is, they do not interact with each other. However, if you use MPS on a regular basis then you may find that you don't need to add as much chlorine over time since the MPS will be oxidizing the organics instead of chlorine performing that function.

just to clarify on what Chemgeek said...

using MPS does not allow you to run a lower FC residual but with continued use of MPS you might need less chlorine to achieve the same FC residual in the water.

This is exactly what I have experienced since switching from a chlorine shock.
