  1. Don't worry about the CH. Your PH and Alk are pretty close. Give it some time. What sanitizer do you use? Both Chlorine and Bromine additions over time will drive down your PH.
  2. Or any plumbing supply place will have a plug.
  3. Great score but you're really golfing in the dead of winter in Minnesota? Hard to find the ball with all the snow also.
  4. I live in Minnesota and I had -9 last night
  5. No other options in your area?
  6. Maybe your bleeder plug vibrated out?
  7. Here's how I like to look at it. If you have a good sanitation regimen. Whether you have Ozone/Clear Ray what ever the name of your supplemental system. You will use slightly less sanitizer. But never rely on that. If you dump in some chlorine and then can't get to it for a few days your more likely to have clean water after those few days with a secondary system than without. But that's all. A "secondary" system is good for that. But this is only my opinion. I sanitize with chlorine. Ozone yea whatever. Others rely on there secondary system more. Ace is a chlorine generator so it is different.
  8. Maxx is starting to look like the new Master Spa.
  9. I would check to make sure you have the proper flow. Could be the circ pump is getting weak.
  10. Doc is right. The problem with any of the UV ozone systems in spas is it like taking one contagious infected person out of a room of a million and curing their infection then putting them back in the room. Ya dump chlorine in and cure the whole room. Thinking your UV/Ozone system is curing the room is a joke.
  11. Sounds like the pack has a problem. That pack is designed to run the blower for 15 seconds at every startup.
  12. Dreswkie, get a new cover dude. Call Doc and order one up 3-4 hundred bucks. Your loosing more heat from the ripped cover than you are anywhere else on the tub. It will take you about 6 months of extra electricity your going to pay on your bill to offset the price of the new cover.
  13. Shut it off at the main breaker for 5 minutes. Then turn it back on.
  14. I would go to the local Maxx dealer. I know you have one close right? See if he can do better. Show prices are usually inflated.
  15. You can go either way. It is very common for those lights to develop leaks. Make sure to clean all mating surfaces before you apply a small bead of silicone. There is a gasket also so if you have a spa store close and can get one.
  16. You won't know if you got a good deal until you hook it up and turn it on.
  17. Pumps are very easy. Make sure you put a little Majilube on the fittings. Or any silicon based lubricant.
  18. Like I said you had a good run. Ya got almost 5 years out of the pump. Generally a value tub will have these types of problems after 5-6 years. Some of the better value tubs will make it longer. Things like the heater, pumps and controls will be first. As the plumbing and parts get brittle you may need to replace the entire tub over the next few years when it becomes not cost effective to repair. They change the tubs so often that you may want a new one anyway. It you went the quality high end tub route for twice the money you would be stuck with it for 15-20 years.
  19. Besides all the Asian made products.
  20. Not sure how the pump could of survived when you said you ran it dry??? That won't be covered under warranty. Or you could be deceitful and say it just quit. Higher prices here we come.
  21. I don't agree. They were an OK value before, nothing special a value tub for a value tub price. And now because of all the failures the prices have gone up to cover the failures.
