Floor Drain On Serena Bay- Open Or Closed?

Just recently got my 03 Serena Bay up and running and am really enjoying my morning and evening soaks now that the cool fall air has rolled in!!!!! So far I am very HAPPY with my purchase and have not second guessed my decision to buy a pre-owned Dimension one at a fraction of the cost of a new one! I have a question regarding the floor drain. Is it supposed to be open or closed during normal operation. The petcock on the hose bib is closed and capped off at the side of the tub, but I was wondering if the floor drain (which is threaded to open or close) was used as an intake or return during normal operation?????

Thanks!

Paul

Ok...first I wanna get my Bevis and Buthead out of the way...."You said petcock".

Ok...that done, you might want to check your specs. My tub, which is a Hot Springs Sovereign the floor drain is also the ozonator so it is an integrel part of the system. Does your system have an ozonator?

Well, I can't imagine anybody designing the floor drain to close if they didn't want you to close it. I'd figure it's so you can open the peacock

I think the word we're all looking for here is "bibcock" or "sillcock".
