Mineral Springs Ms-10 Question

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

I have a Mineral Springs MS-10 (Bioguard) Salt Generator unit. This unit has a display that shows the Mineral Level (Salt?) in PPM. Next to the display is a button that scrolls the display through a number of settings. I know that after the Mineral level it will show the water Temp. Beyond this I cannot find any information on what the other readings mean.

Is there anyplace to find out what all these settings mean? No sure if they are useful to the end user, but I would be interested in knowing what they are.

Thanks!

The Mineral Springs MS-10 is actually a rebranded Goldline Controls (Hayward) Aqua Rite unit (older model). You can go to the goldline website and download the instructions.

http://www.goldlinecontrols.com/Support/Manuals.aspx

They may not be exact but they will be pretty close since the unit is indentical but is an older version of the current Goldline unit!

You are correct that the minerals readout is a salt readout. The goldine units have this option also. This is because Bioguard sells it's 'mineral mix' of begeinnings and renewal which are just actually a very expensive blend of salt and borax and dry acid (and I believe that beginnings also has cya in it) and are totally unnecessary! The unit is actually measuring conductivity (just like about 95% of SWGs on the market) and aprroximating the salt level from it. They display is just reading minerals ppm instead of salt ppm!

:) I had the same question and here's what I found:

1. Pool temperature (xx degrees Fahrenheit or Celsius)

2. Cell voltage (typically 22.0 to 25.0 volts when chlorine is being generated, other-wise

30-35V)

3. Cell current (typically 4.50 to 7.80 amps when chlorine is being generated, other-wise

0 amps)

4. Desired Output % ("0P" -- "100P" depending on knob position or input from remote

pool automation controller)

5. Instant salinity ( -xxxx ppm or -x.xx grams/Liter)

6. Product name sent to the pool automation control display ("AL-0" which signifies

"Aqua Rite")

7. Software revision level (r1.xx)

Hope this Helps
