Gebo
For kicks I took in a water sample to my dealer this morning. Interesting results. Their CH was 80. My test 150. Their Alk 76. Mine 60. Their CYA 45. Mine 30. Their pH 7.9. Mine 7.6. They said my phosphates were 950??? Is that bad? I haven’t googled it.
waterbear
Phospates are a useless measurement. They are trying to sell you phosphate remover, which is not needed since phosphates are normally not the limiting factor in algae growth. As far as the other results go, how are they testing and did you get a computer printout? Pool store testing software is optimized to sell you as many products as possible. This is how they make money.
Gebo
Yes, I got a print out. They took the sample and went into a room. My test results were different than theirs. LOL He told me not to be concerned with phosphates till they got over 2000 ?? I would “never” go by their recommendations. Just hoping others watching will see the value in doing their own testing with good test kits and advice recommended here.
