DJedefre
Isolated heating element, was tripping breaker, replaced. One relay turns on (Red connected to one side of element). The other side of the element is powered through 2 relays (branch circuit?) first relay is not switching. 2 speed motor, runs on low for circulation and high for jets (I think). When I switch motor to high it trips the circuit. Will this keep the heating element from cycling on if pump is in low speed?

Could remove board and look on back for darkened or burnt relay 12 hours ago, DJedefre said: When I switch motor to high it trips the circuit. Odd... what size breaker do you have and is the spa wired 120V or 240V? 12 hours ago, DJedefre said: Will this keep the heating element from cycling on if pump is in low speed? Running in low speed AND the relays are good and it is sending power to the heater it should heat fine/normal in low speed. Is this a new to you install? Has it ever run as it should at your location?
DJedefre
Yes, was working last fall/winter. Have been trying to bring back into service since late November. Replaced 3 of the 5 relays (ones switching power to heater). 60 amp circuit. Only getting a single relay to switch. The coupled relay isn't switching. I'm guessing that one of the two are triggered by the pressure sensor and the other the thermostat? Edited January 7 by DJedefre Clarifying my response and hoping for a reply about coupled relays.
