Susanj
I think I’ve read that alkalinity and pH should not change that much and only need to be tested weekly. That’s not true of mine -it can be fine & I can go in alone for a half an hour and the next morning when I test, it’s way low. Is there something wrong this indicates? cranbiz
When did you last do a water change? When the readings get wacky, it's time to change the water out.
ratchett
Have you tested using a different testing method? Do the numbers match? Know that test strips are not always the most reliable/accurate method of testing. pH and Alkalinity go hand in hand. Boosting one usually boosts the other. Alkalinity is a buffer to the pH. If Alkalinity is in range, pH will not drift much. If Alkalinity is way off, it'll pull pH out of wack faster. But this is a spa hardware section, this topic probably belongs over in water chemistry section 😉
Susanj
Thank you! Water was changed two months ago. I use a drop kit to test.
