Spa light on a 2005, 2006-ish Jacuzzi J-355

Recommended Posts

This issue is pretty far down the list of the things I need in life, but it interests me.  I can't get the light to operate according to instructions.

The spa came to us a few months ago, so I don't know what has been done to it in the past.  The controller board is Jacuzzi.

When I press the light button on the topside controller panel, the light comes on purplish, most but not all times.  Sometimes it stays on, sometimes it goes out after a brief time.  When I press the button, the indicator on the panel "lights."  When I press again, it goes off and the light goes off.  I cannot find any button dance that activated the other light options.

The board has two connections, red and black, that go to the light behind the controller box.  Then there is a phone cable that apparently goes to the waterfall light.  I gently tried to remove the light fixture behind the controller box, but it seems solid. (I know some models it simply pulls off.)

Any insights?

Foot well light looks to be threaded in: https://www.hottubsupplystore.com/footwell-light-6560-420-for-jacuzzi-sundance/

The waterfall LED have a high fail rate with age. Not really any way to test other than replace and to replace you have to remove the entire waterfall assembly as it sits under the waterfall housing. You have to cut the 3/4" line inside the cabinet to remove it.

Wow!  Great information.  Thanks for that, and what you do around here for others.

So it sounds like if any light comes on, the functions on the main controller board are probably OK.  If the lights do not operate properly, it could be caused by a failed LED in the waterfall, a failed LED or circuitry in the footwell light, or both - caused by a waterfall fail.  The place to start is the waterfall light, and it is MUCH more than "changing a lightbulb."
