Aid
Hi all, I have just received my new hot tub yesterday and I was informed it would come wit the Balboa TP800 control system, however it has the Gecko controller. It does not have an Audio option other than bluetooth or wifi capabilities. Is it a better controller or should I demand they fit the Balboa as ordered? The supplier have stated it's a better system. (They would say that). Stick or Twist?
CanadianSpaTech
Post pics of both... Something is not right
Aid
Wow rapid response thank you. Pictures of both controllers? I am not that up on which is better? My spa has come fitted with the Gecko in.K500 when I thought I was getting the Balboa tp800. They said there is a lack of parts for the Balboa at production so they have fitted a "more expensive" Gecko system.
CanadianSpaTech
Ok a little clearer now. I read the first post like you had a balboa topside with a gecko spa pack. So they installed a Gecko system instead of a Balboa system. They are both good systems. Always found the TP800 a little hard to read in the daytime. First I have heard about Balboa supply issues from a spa manufacturer. Gecko is based in Canada and Balboa is based in the US so that alone is why Gecko is better than Balboa... CanadianSpaTech
What brand of spa?
Aid
LOL, I can see the benefits of the Gecko, but mine has come as a bare basic package, IE, no In.touch, In.tune, In.clear zero nothing. Cannot even connect it to wifi to control it via the app, The lights are either on off no scrolling through, it's the little things. Not deal breakers just when you are expecting one thing.... The spa was bought from a company that gives it its own name in from China of course. Not cheap mind. https://betterlivingoutdoors.com/product/barbados-122-jet-5-person-hot-tub
CanadianSpaTech
If you are not getting what you paid for then have them make it right. If you paid for wifi and such they can add it and should at no extra cost to you. If you vetted and selected the right dealer it should not be a problem. Hold them to their word. 2
RDspaguy
In the interests of peace on our northern border, I will refrain from commenting on the merits of Canadian electronics manufacturing. 😉 It is a more expensive system, because everything from gecko is overpriced. If it doesn't have the features you paid for then it's not better.

Don't have to pay $.30 on the dollar exchange, duty at the border and cross border shipping if a Balboa has to be shipped in from the US.
