Bad control panel?

So I am working on my new to me hot tub (hot springs vanguard) I needed to replace the heater and circ pump. They are now replaced and they seem to be working.

But I can't turn my jets on. I'm assuming it's the control panel as of now, because I can't adjust anything on the control panel. When it turns on, it shows that it is set to 102, but then it turns off. But when I press the jet button, temp button or the light button nothing happens. Screen doesn't pop on and nothing adjusts. Is there any way to test the control panel?

Oh by the way, the power light is solid red and is there any way to test pump? I would love to know if it is working

Check the wire for damage. Mice love to eat wires. Also check that the plug isn't loose at the circuit board.

If looks like the outside of the cable is slightly frayed. But should I still be able to change the temp or something on the panel? Since the buttons are on the board.

Depends on which wire is damaged. You can cut and splice those wires if you are careful, they are color coded.

So I just spliced the wire, and it doesn't appear it made any differences and I do not see any other bad wires

But it shows a temperature when you first power it up? Do you have a secondary panel (small control with a few buttons opposite side from the main panel)? If so, unplug it. If not, I would remove the board from the controller and check for water, corrosion, or debris. If that all looks good, replace controller.

I tested the wire for resistance and continuity and all the wires passed. I unplugged the secondary panel but no luck as well, and I don't see any water damage. Yes It does display when I turn it on, but then it turns off (goes to sleep I'm guessing)

Then it is a controller or the board. You might bring it to an electronics repair guy to see if he can find a faulty component. I would get a controller and plug it in, but I can return them to my supplier. It's a pretty pricey part for a maybe, and I know of no way to test it beyond what has been done. Perhaps it's time to call the local dealer.

Have you called the manufacturer's tech support? They may be able to offer more info. I work on all brands, so am not a HS specialist.

What is the difference between a controller and the board? And I'll try giving a call to tech support

The controller has a board behind the buttons, but the main board is in the box where all the equipment wires and power wires go. There are usually two boards in there, the main board and the relay board. It is there that you should be checking for loose connection and damaged wires.

Can you post a pic of your equipment area?

I see soot on your wiring in the main pack. Both the controller wires and the connector beneath them, as well as the pump wires. That should not be there. Something is blown on one of the boards in the pack (black box). I also see a black substance around the capacitors by the yellow component on the upper left of the main (large) board. I suspect one or more of the capacitors is blown. I am not sure if it can be repaired or not, but it might be worth removing it and bringing it in to an electronics/ computer repair guy to have a look.
