savering
After moving in to a new home a few weeks ago I noticed that I'm having an issue with the hot tub. First, a little technical background. The tub (Jacuzzi outdoor) is on the same 15 AMP breaker as my two bathrooms. The outdoor 3 prong outlet that the tub plugs in to has a gfi but the bathrooms only have the gfi at the breaker. Starting a few weeks ago the tub started tripping the breaker and now its starting to freeze over. Im in Minnesota and we have had quite a cold stretch... a few weeks around 0 - 25. As of now I can not get the tub to run at all... nearly instant breaker trip. I think the best idea would be to drain or maybe winterize and deal with getting the tub correctly installed / wired on its own in the spring. I have enough on the to-do list where I don't have much time to use the unit so getting it fired up is not a high priority now either... Any thoughts an advice would be great! -savering
Roger
Winterize the tub for sure. It is likely frozen so you may want to bring in a tech. Where are you located? What part of Mn?
savering
I'm guessing you mean the pipes and stuff like that? I took a quick look at the water last night and the edges of the water were starting to freeze. Small, but alarming... Golden valley Crystal area. Thanks! Roger
Get a heater on it ASAP. Inside the cabinet. Get it drained or call a tech to do it. More damage is being created as we speak. Be sure to suck or blow all the lines out and disconnect the pumps at the unions if your doing it yourself.
