Burhan_metro_Pools
Can anyone please explain: 1. What is the use of hydrostatic Valve? 2. How does it Works?
PoolGuyNJ
A hydrostatic valve is a lightly spring loaded valve that lets ground water enter the pool should the water level in the pool drop lower than the ground water level outside the pool. This keeps the pool from floating. Periodically, they should be replaced as the gaskets in them dry out and the can cause leaks. Pool Clown
Put a plug in your sink and fill it with water. That represents ground water. Now take a glass and fill it with water, and place it in the sink with the water in it. That represents your pool. Now take the water out of the glass and try to put it back into the water in the sink. Notice how the glass wants to pop up? A hydrostat helps equalize the outside pressure with the inside of the pool (when drained) to keep it from popping out of the ground. It can be in the form of a pipe that goes from the inside to the outside (of the pool) usually in the main drain sump, with a plug in it that gets removed, that will allow outside and inside pressures to equalize. Or it can be a one way valve that will only allow flow from the outside to inside the pool.
