jasontjames
The power company can't give me an sort of an estimate on when the power will be back on. Should I go out and pull the plugs on my pool equipment? It may be too late at this point anyway.
BillinKingstonSprings
I had that happen once with my spa and I was able to use a gas powered leaf blower to blow out the lines. I am not sure if that would work on a pool but just an idea,
AFiremanFirst
Wow, you're in a tight spot. Pulling your plugs is the best place to start. remove your pump lid. If you have jandy valves you can open them up too. Is your equipment at higher or lower elevation from your pool water height. Hopefully it is higher, and this should be sufficient. I'm in dallas an we're getting down into the single digits tonight. Since you didn't "winterize" your pool I'm assuming you are in a normally warm climate and the freeze your discussing is short term. But we need to know where you are, and if you can determine your freeze depth (sorry I don't know the technical term) then that may come into play. For instance. In DFW tx our freeze line is somewhere around 6", in other words, water 6" below surface level doesn't freeze, further north... It may be several feet. BoatingDave
what is the average freeze depth in Philadelphia? Is there a place to find these sorts of things out in various cities?
PoolGuyNJ
Our region is typically about 18" depth. This is why footers typically need to be 24" deep to prevent frost heaves. Scott
