Convert Natural Gas To Propane

hey guys I have a spa heater that uses natural gas currently. I want to convert it propane. Does anyone have any experience doing that? I've found lots of natural gas to propane conversion kits on google, but I have no idea which one I would need. The spa heater is a Teledyne Laars XL. Any info would be great, thanks.

ok with that said...what is the possibility of running one of these heaters off a bbq propane tank? Sorry if thats a silly question

A 20lb cylinder has roughly 360k btu in it. You'll go through half to all of that heating a tub on first fill, depending upon efficiency of the heater and tub size. You might get a few days to a wk out of a std. propane tank. Very expensive way to heat a tub IMHO, unless you have access to bulk pricing- the blue rhino and amerigas people will love you.

As far as converting to propane, it will require a new orifice at a minimum- this is something that will need to be provided by the mfg, if it is even available. otherwise you're playing with fire (literally).

Not possible. The output of a propane take is relative to the surface area of the propane in the tank. There's not enough surface area in a BBQ tank to give anywhere near enough output of gas.
