What Is This Return Line Outlet Fitting? (pic)

Recommended Posts

What do I have here (besides a desperate need for a resurfacing)?

It's a very old gunite pool (I don't know exactly how old).

This is one of the two return line outlets (the other is the same).

There are six screw holes.

The inner diameter of the ring with the holes is 2 inches.

A #7 winterizing plug fits snuggly in the inner (recessed) pipe.

My goal is to attach something (a poolskim) to the outlet which would normally attach to a standard 1.5 inch outlet fitting.

Thanks,

Chris

Looks like an old return fitting thats missing the eyeball and face plate. Your only hope is check the local pool builders and see if they have any "old stuff". Take another pic, one at a 45 from where this pic was taken to see how deep that bigger section is so the pool builder can see if he has anything like that. Or maybe you'll get lucky and its still available.

Note: That is all cosmetic, You don't need it to run the pump.

It looks like an old Swimquip? fitting, I think no longer availble, but check with an experienced local dealer, as PC said. If/when you get your pool resurfaced, they can chip these fittings out and install newer fittings. If there are threads internally on the fitting, you might find a fitting to thread into this one.
