RuBaDuB
Hi all, how would one tell if the Pump Shaft Seal is leaking in an Arctic? Since this is a disclaimer in the warranty that seems to put the onus on the owner to be a licensed mechanic, how would one go about monitoring this? Would there be obvious signs of leakage, like a puddle under the pump? Or would one need to put something under the pump to detect even a small amount of leaking? Thanks for any help! Pool Clown
Nope, just use yer peepers to see if you have a puddle under a pump. Seal leaks can normally be seen under the pump where the motor and the pump come together.
ttrublue
If spa is under 5yrs old call your dealer, Arctic warranty covers pumpseals for 5yrs I think. Some other brands 90 days!!!

Pull your panel where your spa's pump(s) are located, turn on the pump(s), and if the seal is bad you'll see water dripping from the shaft of the motor. It's just that simple. Pump seals are a inexpensive fix too. Good Luck!
RuBaDuB
Thanks all, I figured it was not too difficult...just wasn't sure if I needed to be looking with a magnifying glass every other day for the slightest little drip.
