Will A Gorilla Pad Help?

We are getting ready to put a new liner in our 18 x 33 pool. On one end we always have new divots arising, this is our 3rd liner in 12 years. Where the divots appear there used to be a row of trees that were removed and we are thinking that as the years go by the roots are dissolving more, causing the ground to collapse and make these divots. Where the divots are is were we usually get the holes and have patched them but this winter one of the patches must have come loose and we have lost all the water. My question is once we remove the old liner and add more sand and get it leveled again, would a gorilla pad or one of the other pads on the market help eliminate are problems or does anyone have any other suggestions?

We put our first above ground pool in about 20 yrs ago. Installer/contractor put in the same kind of concrete used for in-ground vinyl lined pools - think it's called gunite - since then we ahve never had a root or other upward intrusion nor has it even given way downward and it provides the same protection to our liner as found in in-ground pools.

This has given us a firm and uniform bottom all these years. We realize this is probably not done as a standard thing for above ground pools but it sure works and seems able to last forever.

Best of Luck
