Steve & Donna
Heater seems to be shot. Do I need a certified electrician to replace the heater, or can it be replaced by layman? It is a Great Lakes Manistee 2000L. If I could do it, where would I find a heater?

Depends on the year Great Lakes to what control system it has, it should have a standard flo thru heater in it. You can find them online or your local spa dealer/service center may have them in stock. Are you sure it is the heater, not one of the relays ect. before you start purchasing products. One of the systems they used to use had issues with the heater relays burning up. This is where it may save $$ to have a service tech take a look.
