I literally never use the jets, maybe for a few minutes, but most of the time I just lay back and soak in the warm water. My brother on the other hand uses them the whole time when he visits, I find it makes hearing the stereo difficult.

Curious what others do.

I think the key word here is visit. Owners who have a spa at their disposal to use anytime will probably use it in a much different way than non owners. I even believe that spa owners use their tubs in a different way than they expected to use before they purchased it.

I use the jets about 1/4 of the time.

I haven't had a spa for about 4 years, and I missed the hydrotherapy a lot. Finally had my first soak in my new-to-me spa last night. BOY, have I missed the hydrotherapy!!! After my soak, I was in New Woman territory.

I generally spend about 30-45 minutes in the spa. About half of that is getting pummeled from every direction by the jets, and half is star-gazing and letting my mind drift in the pleasant environment. Sometimes more of one and sometimes more of the other.

I frequently spend over an hour in the tub. I am sure of this since Pandora Radio shuts off after an hour and asks "are you still listening" (computer is inside so I cannot click 'yes', doh!), I better subscribe, which would give me 5 hours! :D

My stereo auto adjusts the volume level depending on how many jets are on in the spa. I never notice a difference in the radio volume. The speakers also send the sound right at water level.

Do you have a stereo built into your spa, or do you have a seperate unit with outdoor speakers?

The only time I turn on the jets is when my bod is particularly sore from a new exercise at the gym OR excessive snow shovelling. Otherwise, I much prefer to soak quietly and am annoyed when that darn pump comes on with the heater to restore water temperature set point.

When friends come to soak, we get all pumps and bubblers crankin'.

All music originates from my computer in the living room. I have a dedicated 4-channel amp powering 4 outdoor speakers, two by the pool, and two by the spa each pair has outdoor volume controls (one by pool, one reachable from the spa). I could just crank it up, but with the speakers about 10' away they would have to be awfully loud to hear over the jets.
