  1. Check craigslist and see what people are asking for them in your area. I figure that after about 3-4 years a tub would be worth about half of what it was new ($2,150). After 9, I would be thinking $500-$1,000 for a working tub, the higher end of the scale for one in very good shape, or full featured tub.
  2. OMGZ, just push teh button!!!!!1 As said above, it's not like you have to get out of the tub to do it.
  3. http://www.rhtubs.com/covers/cover-index.htm That's where I got mine!
  4. I got my Vita LC500 from my neighbor, 6 of us loaded it atop of my trailer and we towed it across the yard. I strongly suggest at least 6 people to lift a big tub, more the better. They are not the easiest things to hold onto. The patio was sloped about 3" every 8', so I ripped four pressure treated 4X4's diagonally, like long wedges, placed the 8 of them parallel to each other every 8" or so and screwed 3/4" exterior plywood to them to level out the tub, worked great. Tub has been in place for over 3 years.
  5. All music originates from my computer in the living room. I have a dedicated 4-channel amp powering 4 outdoor speakers, two by the pool, and two by the spa each pair has outdoor volume controls (one by pool, one reachable from the spa). I could just crank it up, but with the speakers about 10' away they would have to be awfully loud to hear over the jets.
  6. I frequently spend over an hour in the tub. I am sure of this since Pandora Radio shuts off after an hour and asks "are you still listening" (computer is inside so I cannot click 'yes', doh!), I better subscribe, which would give me 5 hours!
  7. Post on various spa forums, and put on e-bay. E-bay is prob the best way, for something so specific it works wonders! CL is an excellent marketplace for many items, especially ones difficult to ship, but it covers such a small area specialized items are hard to sell there.
  8. I literally never use the jets, maybe for a few minutes, but most of the time I just lay back and soak in the warm water. My brother on the other hand uses them the whole time when he visits, I find it makes hearing the stereo difficult. Curious what others do.
  9. Absolutely, price transparency exists in most areas thanks to the internet. It sure does give the customer the upper hand, forums and other dealers (all over the country) can be researched for price and availability in a matter of minutes. Local stores have to bring their prices closer to internet ones to keep customers. A luxury is just that, something you DON'T need, groceries and electricity are needs. Why not throw out a low-ball price to see if you can get it? I know it stinks, and I get it when selling something privately, some offers are downright INSULTING, but that is how many play the game. There is more than just a low price when buying something, but I fix nearly everything myself so dealer support is not nearly as important to me as it is to some, and no longer is a local dealer needed for parts, all can be had online. I have been looking around for Utility vehicles. Leaning towards the Kawasaki Mule diesel, I called many dealers and expected to hear some good numbers due to this economic slow down (new car sales down 50%), but they were not exceptional, most selling for $500 over their cost [so they say] (on a $10,500) unit, most who I spoke with said they make money on accessories and service. With such a small spread between dealer cost and selling price, I don't see any killer deals on these units, are there more in other power sports categories?
  10. About a year ago I replaced the circulation pump in my late 90's Vita Spa, ever since I have been getting large air bubbles through the return into the tub. If I partially plug the return in the tub with my toe tie bubbles stop. Where could the air be coming from? The suction side of the pump comes directly from one of the filter bases, though there is a "T" off on it. EDIT: All fixed, called Vita, extremely helpful tech person suggested checking the ozone line at the unit for partial obstruction, that was the case, cut clogged section out (there was extra hose), and reconnected, now back to alka-seltzer size bubbles, like normal. Thanks, John
