mathman
hi, new tub (up since July 4th), we have the frog, CD Ozone and SpaGuard Oxidizer. total chloroine tests OK but free chloroine is consistantly low. should i be worried? how do i increase fee chloroine and/or should i? also, i've people refer to the frog as bromide (spelling?) but spaguard's active ingredient is dichloro-s-triazinetrione...is it ok to mix and match? any help is appreciated
Hillbilly Hot Tub
hi, new tub (up since July 4th), we have the frog, CD Ozone and SpaGuard Oxidizer. total chloroine tests OK but free chloroine is consistantly low. should i be worried? how do i increase fee chloroine and/or should i? also, i've people refer to the frog as bromide (spelling?) but spaguard's active ingredient is dichloro-s-triazinetrione...is it ok to mix and match? any help is appreciated You need to increase the amount of chlorine you add by a little bit if you want to raise the free chlorine. With the frog you can keep it at a little lower level since this also helps to sanitize the water along with the ozone. Free chlorine is what is available to work on any crap that gets into the tub. The frog is not bromine or bromide. It is a mineral stick. I think the confusion lies in that the frog can be use with bromine products where nature 2 (the other brand mineral stick) can not. Dichlor is safe to use with either products.
