  1. I have had a Bullfrog A6L for a few months now. Have a few questions for fellow Bullfrog owners. 1) The pump seems to run very often, and is quite loud. Is this normal? Is this a setting thing? Could this be an insulation thing? I am in NC so it is relatively warm. 2) I have the 2nd pump option. However, the pressure of the 2nd pump in 2 of the jetpacks is way stronger than the other 2 jetpacks. For those who have 2 pumps, have you had the same experience? Thoughts? Experiences?
  2. I'm a new hot tub user and for about a week now I've been having an issue of just above 0ppm bromine levels, my pH and TA are completely fine and in the correct range although the bromine is next to nothing, I have a Sundance Optima 880 and I tried using the Brominator and a floating dispenser both together and one at a time and neither has fixed my issue and now just yesterday when the jets are on the hot tub starts to create foam. During the refilling stage I used infused bromine granules as I heard this is something you're supposed to use to boost the bromine upon refill, this worked and I had high bromine levels although they naturally ended up dropping. I've tried, refilling the water, using non-chlorine shock treatment, cleaning the filter with a filter cleaner hose attachment
  3. Howdy! first time on this forum, hope everyone is having a good day. I'm trying to replace the circulation pump in a Balboa EL Neptune (pretty sure that's what its called) Original pump in Hot tub was a Waterway cp-1/15-1n22a 3410020-0E motor The pump motor specs are labeled as follows 1/8 H.P. 230v 0.8A S.F. 1 1725 RPM Continuous run time. Just about every reasonably priced pump ive found (sub $200) is rated at 1/15 H.P. Does it matter? Should I spend ~$300 to get one rated 1/8HP even if the lower HP motor has the same RPM? also the one i keep seeing (Iron Might 3410020-1E) has a lower SF value of 0.63A Is this a big deal? top contender for replacement: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Gecko-Alliance-3410020-1E-Iron-Might-Circ-Pump-44-230V-0-8A/115706139?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=1582&&adid=22222222227046475627&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=96531595610&wl4=pla-218879689010&wl5=9016858&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=113139572&wl11=online&wl12=115706139&veh=sem&gclid=Cj0KCQjw0rr4BRCtARIsAB0_48Ou_bwsIFM0jSFsDZtfPGZ9KGOZM3lUx4drDR7m_BK6TGXa5vWt9AkaAhUeEALw_wcB Pardon my naivety, first time Hot Tub owner. Any help is appreciated.
  4. I have a CAT200 Catalina Spas Hot Tub. Just replaced the large pump, small pump, circuit board and heater as well as the flow sensor. Now I turn on and get a FLO error. I have bleed all pipes I can. Primed the jets. Removed and replaced the filters. I even tried adjusting the pressure sensor. The hot tub will just not circulate. I may have mis-wired somewhere, I guess. The tub will heat and work when jets are on too. I am about to break down and pay for service but want to see if anyone has fixed this or has a CAT200 to compare wiring. Thanks!
  5. Thanks to Itchy & Scratchy, I don't even have my spa yet but after reading his experience with a used Marquis Spirit, I joined this Forum before going any further with my research in purchasing a spa. I have determined I want a Marquis. I would LOVE to have the Spirit, but a big price difference for me ON TOP of the costs for the concrete pad, electrical, rerouting my irrigation lines, etc., it is not doable. I originally wanted the Rendezvous. I love the size! I would be the only person using basically. I like the shape. Did not do a wet test, so uncertain as to how it actually performs. I did sit in ithe Rendezvous dry. I then got blindsighted by the Spirit. WOW. So, if $$ was not an object, I would purchase the Spirit. I am having a hard time finding anyone out there that actually owns a Rendezvous or can recommend yay or nay. I mainly just find information from dealers & Marquis. There are two versions of the Marquis Rendezvous, with the Discovery being the basic or lower end version, no water feature, etc. (Be careful when looking at the brochure, need to read the fine print to figure this out). LOL. So the discounted floor model would cost approximately $5200 (that does not include tax, etc.). That does include delivery & steps, some chemicals. That is a lot of money in my mind to spend to possibly be disappointed in performance. Also, interior of the Discovery only comes in white which would not be my first choice but that is really not important. I would love ANY feedback/opinions of the Rendezvous. I do not need any positive reinforcement on the Spirit, I just can't afford it and wish I would get the Rendezvous for a bit less to be honest. In the meantime, thank you for letting me join. I plan to lurk and soak up knowledge on the care and feeding of my potential purchase! While I am at it, if anyone wants to weigh in with their opinion on a woman, 68 years old, with some mobility issues....the practicability of being able to own/properly maintain a spa in the first place, please feel free to be blunt. I live in AZ so mild climate and would not be using the heater in the summer, would be using to chillax from the over 100 degree temps. I also promise not to EVER write another long post! LOL
  6. Hello, everyone, Another Newbie here asking your opinions to help validate my own purchase decision. Some background, Family of 5 with 3 children 9 and under. Looking for large tub, from a good, established manufacturer with solid dealer service/support. We obeyed rule number 1 on these forums and wet tested many brands and tubs, as well as online research to make our decision. We decided on the Artesian Island series Margarita. So now i'm at the negotiating stage and looking for advice on pricing, obviously Hot Tub pricing is anything but transparent, so as much as we have planned and prepared, I am not 100% sure if I'm offering the right price. I want this to be fair for both the dealer and my self, I want them to profit and be around to offer service and support for years to come. That all being said here is what I'm going to offer. All opinions and thoughts are welcome and taken with humility. Thank you in advance Isla Margarita - $9,500 108" x 91" x 36" 18” Tranquility illuminated Waterfall – $150.00 PillowFall Illuminated - $150.00 Dynapoint LED - $335.00 PermaBase ABS pan $150 Crystal AOP UV/Ozone - $no charge No stereo Cover – Included Steps - Included Start-Up Chemicals– Included Delivery – Included (I have a gate opening of 48 inches and clear path to spa pad) Subtotal - $10,285 Artesian Instant Rebate = -$900.00 Dealer Instant Double Rebate = -$900.00 Subtotal = $8485.00 Tax 7.5% = $615.00 Total = $9,100
  7. Hi Gang, OK, so first time spa owner and someone gave it to me. I pulled out both motors and had them tested, both OK and no cracks or leaks. It's called a Coast Spa but it's made by Northwind Hot Tub and it says it's a "Deluxe Series" its from about 2009. It's in place now freshly filled via the filter and now the startup questions since I have no clue. When I first power it up I see the display show: - the display initializes - it flashes 100 - it then flashes 93 - it then flashes 43 - it then flashes 12 - it then shows " Pr " after about 5 mins, you head a click and the Pump 1 light comes on and the display shows: - - F And thats where it sits so any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated! I'm going to call the tub guy to look it over but I'd like your suggestions first before he shows up. Cheers' Dave
  8. Hello, My wife and I will soon be a new hot tub owner. We are currently looking at the Sundance Chelsee and Jacuzzi 365. We are leaning towards the Chelsee as it seems to be more of what we are looking for in a hot tub. The Jacuzzi is really nice but the price is a little higher than the Sundance. We have received a quote for the Sundance Chelsee ou the door for about $8500. My question to you guys is is that a good price? They are also offering us 50 months of interest free financing. Any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated!!
  9. Newbie buying advice needed. We live in Minnesota and looking to purchase our first hot tub. Brands we're looking at are Dimension One, Bullfrog, Sundance, Cal spas, Hot springs, maybe Marquis (based on some good suggestions I've seen in these forums). So far we've wet tested Hot Springs and Dimension One. Looked at Sundance (no wet test). Like the vibe of our local Dimension One dealer - they seem like nice, regular guys - no rehearsed hard-sell pitch. And they've been around awhile. We're leaning toward a 7 - 8' open seating tub. We're "wee folk" (all definitely under 6 foot) with two 15 year old boys. We're finding that tubs with a raised center foot area help us stay in our seats better. Also, some of the seats have upper back jets that are a bit too wide for our compact frames - the narrower jet placement seems to be more effective. The D1 Nautilus seems like a nice fit for an 8 footer, but only one seat has upper back jets narrow enough for my wife. The Nautique (7 foot model) looks to have narrower upper back jets and the bonus of four of the adjustable quad-jet neck pillows. Haven't wet tested that yet, but our concern might be that a 7 foot tub get a little crowded for more than 4 people (but maybe that's ok - we're a family of four so if we have guests, take turns). We'll probably try to arrange a wet test. We did wet test the Nautilus, but except for one seat, the upper back jets were placed a little wide. Also wet tested the Meridian, but really missed having the raised center foot area - felt like we were floating away a lot of the time. We haven't done any negotiating, but Nautique pricing out of the gate from our dealer is $8,900 for a 2014 model loaded with lights, water feature and stereo, or $9,800 for a 2015 model with lights and water feature but no stereo. Neither include cover or lift pricing. Do those seem like reasonable prices? Water feature and stereo are not something we'd pay extra for, but if it's a good price for an existing model... Any advice from others out there, especially folks of "smaller stature". We haven't looked at Bullfrog yet, but the interchangeable jetpacks seem like they'd really provide the ability to customize that jet placement, but I assume that comes with a cost attached. Thanks!
  10. Hi recently bought a used garden leisure spa don't know the year but the model I believe is a Camillia standard. it seats 6 and has 2 pumps. when I power on the spa normal or low pressure will come through the waterfall and the jets on the seats next to the waterfall. this is pump #1 when I press pump #1 a second time more pressure comes out of the same location mentioned above not a problem. the issue is that nothing is coming out of half the spa the jets are on . if I press pump # 2 button the #2 pump blows water out of the diverter about 2 feet high and the jets that where off are now on and the water shoots out of the spa. is it possible that pump #2 has is a super pump and I just need to replace the diverter valve so it doesn't come off when pump #2 is turned on? or can I just disconnect the second pump and only run pump #1 with medium pressure?
  11. We are staying at a friends house. My daughter innocently dumped in a bottle of bubbles, you know the kind that kids blow bubbles with? I don't know much about hot tubs but I do know that the bubble solution should not have been put into it. How can I clean and if necessary repair the hot tub before I leave? I should say that my friends are not around. They are allowing us to stay at their place during their vacation. While they will be understanding, I would rather have the problem fixed before they return. Please help!
  12. Good morning, I purchased a home a few weeks ago and have had enough time to start to get settled in. The home came with a hot tube and I've never owned one before. The person who owned the home didn't leave with me with any instructions, all he said was that it worked. I'm looking for some help on what to do to test everything on the hot tub to verify it works and get me going for the winter months. Check for leaks? Verify Heating element works? Verify Pumps work? Verify sprayers work? I'm just looking at how to do all this stuff and anything else i might need to do to verify I have a good, working order hot tub. I suppose a manual might help give me information on all of this, but any help from anyone who's done all this before, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Pictures Below of what I have. I think the last picture is the nameplate on the tub, and it says spring Harbor acrylic spas.
