  1. You will need to open up the main control box in the equipment bay. In the bottom right hand corner of the circuit board, there is an LED. If there are 3 flashing dots and the light is off, then you need to replace the pressure switch. If the light is on, then you need to replace the complete pack.
  2. You have a bad flow switch (or a bad board, but that is very rare). It is malfunctioning by thinking there is flow when there really is none. Get that replaced and you should be fine.
  3. I've drained spas with well over 100ppm chlorine onto grass/flowers and never had anything die because of oit.
  4. Polycarbonate is the material that Baquaspa attacks. If the jets are made from polycarbonate, the dealer/manufacturer should specifically say that Baqua spa/baqua spa type products should not be used.
  5. There were never light rings on the 880 series.
  6. I work for a retailer in New Hampshire. What are the problems you are having and have had?
  7. Unless there is a NEW new message board,I think I'm still banned
  8. Why would you want to make it easier for some random service guy to diagnose/repair the product YOU specialize in?
  9. If you never test for bacteria or ozone, and there are some bacteria that need a level of 3-5ppm chlorine to be brougth down to a safe level, why do you think you can get away with a level of 1ppm? Do you really think the ozone is destroying all that harmful bacteria? It's not. Ozone will oxidize any contaminants it comes in contact with. This includes minerals and dead organisms. You cannot rely on it to destroy the harmful bacteria. If you are only going to get your level to 1ppm, why bother at all? You are not getting the chlorine to a level that will kill the harmfull bacteria.
  10. It's not "thermally closed" if it has vents in it to "cool the pumps."
  11. Instead of regularly using MPS and dichlor as a shock. Dichlor is a sanitizer, MPS is not. Using MPS with dichlor as a shock is backwards.
  12. I would use dichlor for a sanitzer and MPS as a shock once a week.
  13. As long as you are in North America, you need a GFCI. I am curious as to why you think it is sensless.
  14. I have heard of this happening in other parts of the country, but it has become a front page story here in New Hampshire. If any of you have seen these signs that try and fool consumers into thinking they are being sold a spa at a huge discount, you know what I am talking about. The signs are generally placed illegaly, but removing these illegal signs seems to also be a crime. If you are sick of seeing these signs, and would like to see them removed, I would suggest logging on to this forum to let them know that this type of advertising should not be tolerated. Thanks
  15. We have been using rubbing alcohol to remove sticky stuff and clean silicone off of our acryllic shells for years and have not had one incident.
  16. "Goof off" can also damage acrylic spas. Just use some %91 rubbing alcohol. Works great.
  17. That is about $7300 usd. Seems a little high, but not that far off the mark.
  18. Although wood/synthetic parts do seem to take much longer to ship compared to other parts, 6 weeks seems to be pushing it. Pretty much every other part like pumps/pc boards/jets are shipped that day or the next day.
  19. Probaby a bad pump. The heater will normally draw more than 20 amps anyways, so I doubt it is hooked up to the fuse.
  20. What specifically made you worry? I went through 3 pages of the google search engine and still did not find one thing relating to ozones in spas. If you really want to be worried, check out these searches: dangers of hot tubs dangers of spas dangers of chlorine dangers of water Anything can be dangerous if used incorrectly The ozone generators used in spas nowadays have a hard time keeping any sort of residual in the spa itself, so ozone levels never have a chance to get to levels where they are harmful.
  21. The smart heater is installed on all 880 series spas for 2006+. It should not be a big part of your decision making.
  22. From the Baquaspa website: "4. Is the BaquaSpa Water Care System compatible with my spa’s ozonator? BaquaSpa is compatible with an ozonator. You should follow label directions for all BaquaSpa products. If you are using an ozonator, we recommend that you test your BaquaSpa Sanitizer with Stain & Scale Control level every four days instead of once a week (as recommended for spas without an ozonator). "
  23. The question was whether the circ. pump would circulate water on the oppostie side of the tub. (I think that is what the question was.) The answer is yes as far as a Sundance 880 is concerned. Although the circ. pump skims the water, there is water coming out on the bottom of the spa to stir things up. There is also another entry point (or two depending on whether the valve is in the middle position) that moves the water around. Essentially, the water that is returned to the spa on the bottom of the spa, forcing the water on the bottom of the spa to the top.
