  3. Did you ever get payied from the first contract
  4. Congratulations HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
  5. You need to look at the dealer before you buy. I think you get a better tub at a dealer then at costco or any other internet sales. Dealers are bad and good and you got a bad one.you didnt get things writen down and thats your fault. To say dealer sold tubs are bad becuse you are learning a hard lesson is wrong. people bring back Costco type tubs for Leaks, not running or high energy use and so on. yours was a bummer tub from the begining and you didnt lisen to others when they warned you. Hope it works out for you. Happy thanksgiving
  6. Well, talk about bad luck. After much research on this forum, listening to those that warned us of all the issues we would have, we decided not to purchase a spa from Costco. We thought we were lucky to find a used Vita Rendezvous at a local Vita dealer. They claimed the 2005 tub that was "the owners' tub" and he was just upgrading, the only reason he was selling the spa (ya right). If this blister issue (we only have 4-5 smaller blisters) is not just isolated to the 2004s?? Unfortunately we have the almond pearl acrylic tub See the full description here: http://www.poolspaforum.com/forum/index.ph...21&hl=tsand Unfortunately it wouldn't matter, since Vita Spas warranties are not transferable. We have only a 1 year warranty from the dealer and we are emptying the tub for the first time next week, so if we have more blisters, we may be in some unpleasant hot water with this spa. Wish we would have known about this issue, we would have never bought the Vita. Several people on this site spoke very highly of Vita. At this rate, Costco's return policy is looking better everyday. Looks like dealing with dealers and paying their high prices doesn't protect consumers in Vita's case. Wish us better luck! Thanks Tsand You where told about the blems before you bought it. members here told you to look out for that kind of stuff(looks bad) (id be worried about the blisters). you bought a bad tub at a very deep discount and want us to feel bad for you. Its not going to happen.
  7. I would rather have the round unbrella that you can ajust and use it else where on your patio. I think the only way it could keep the rain or show off of you, is when it is coming stright down.
  8. Had that been a thermopain design spa then it would be alot less difficult to repair and no lift needed. I worked on neighbors Clearwater spa and it was easy to spot the leak. It took ten minutes to remove the side panals and locate the loose fitting. I think it would have been a absolute nightmare to find and repair in a full foam spa! True...but I am of the opinion that only a fraction of quality tubs sold ever develop a leak in the plumbing, but every single non-insulated tub will cost a lot more money in the long run electric wise in the northeastern climate in which I operate. Why was the fitting 'loose'?...maybe because there was no insulation to keep it from vibrating apart? They are definitely easier to fix but I don't believe the slight possibility of a leak and the ease of repair is worth the operating cost in the long run. Right on the money
  9. If you have a company that sells for under what it should, do you think it will be there long?? Drink up
  10. Thank you for info, I appreciate it very much. I'm going to assume it needs chips, but I'll check tomorrow and see what I can find. As to how old it is, I'm not sure. Probably atleast 4 years old, I'll find out to be sure. It's been 2 days since plugged it in and it's pretty warm, and I'm getting excited! Thanks again everyone Email Rose At nordic with the numbers on the tub.she can tell you how old it is and what model it is.
  11. The control panel display is very importaint.I think with a good pic of the tub without the cover i can tell you what tub model you have. Congratulations
  12. Thanks for the information from someone who has been through a winter facing these issues. If the ice only accumulated where you got out of the spa, I guess one of the smaller heated mats might work. Still kind of pricey, but it would certainly do the trick there. Then maybe just some type of runner mat between the spa and the house? Something that could be shoveled off, maybe black so as to catch the sun's rays and provided some radiant melting action? Thanks, David Get boots you can slip on easily and take off easily. you can use sand to stop the ice from being slippery.
  13. . It was a very poor management decision to sell at Costco, but I'll bet it sounded good at the time. How can selling what you make at a loss sound good anytime during a deal??? I think they where in the red before costco and tried to use the mass selling as a cash cow but the bottom line fell out with alot of returns.
  14. Your control panal should show you your temp(or where you are at) Can you take a pic in the daylite??
  15. I disagree. If you buy a well made thermal blanket like those sold on "Dr Spas" site and follow the professional recommendations suggested in the link on my previous post, you should reduce your energy consumption. So what will you save?? Give us the numbers.
  16. IMO, A thermal blanket on a poorly insulated tub is like insulating your attic with R60 insulation and then opening a window in your house. A thermal blanket will help but it won't cut your power consumption in half. FULL FOAM is the only way to go if you live where its cold.
  17. [ How do people handle the cold winter conditions and their accompanying issues like ice and snow when it comes to getting in and out of the spa? Thanks, David To get in your spa, walk barefoot threw the snow hop in. To exit the spa, jump outwalk barefoot back to your house. The colder the better
  18. So now i'm going to use the bleach and see what happens for the next month. the two CYA test came back to low to read. i'm also put in a tablespoon of the non clholine shock and will do so every week till i dump the tub the first of the year. Seeya soon. I have been using Bleach for the last week. My rash seems to be going away.if you remember,i only get it on two small spots everytime. My rash can also be the scent that i use?? i have not put that in since the Bleach use but i'm going to start using it today to see. Hi Waterbear.
  19. Great reply The one thing about the hudro spa i was hearing was, if it started when first pluged in, it would leak Think about it. John Did your Hudro spa leak after you pluged it in? The two at my dealer did
  20. Richard (with a proper contact chamber) How can you tell this when you are buying a spa??
  21. after about a year with my tub i would see some steam coming from the ends of the hinge. in real cold weather i would have ice there. i too as dave have thoses little seals on the ends of the seal. Now i made sure that my new cover(still waiting on) has the full hinge seal. i think that might help keep the water in. Dave makes a good point about having the cover put on the correct way. i could be wrong but i think if its pulled down to much on the straps it could lift the cover on the hinge and steam could escape.
  22. Great reply The one thing about the hudro spa i was hearing was, if it started when first pluged in, it would leak Think about it. John
  23. Thank you. You said it so much better then i did Now it all depends on its shape when you go to put it back.
