  1. Good Lord! Opening a spa so a customer can see inside is about the most work a spa salesman actually does (which I can attest ain't much). If a customer wants to see inside a spa, you bet your buttcrack I'll open it up for him. I always leave one spa cabinet open anyway so folks can see inside, but I'll open every single one if that's what the customer wants. It takes almost 1 minute to do it, then I can go back to drinking Shiner Bock! Terminator
  2. From the MasterSpa website: The Advantages of Mineral Purification Destroys most bacteria, pathogens, algae and fungi Removes heavy metals like lead and mercury from water Removes calcium carbonate and hydrogen sulphide from spa water to protect heaters and equipment from precipitation Helps stabilize the pH and alkalinity of the spa water Reduces 95% of chemical usage and still provides safe odor-free water Depletes excess chlorine after chemical shock to prevent damage to hair and swimwear All-natural, environmentally safe sanitizing system that does not require chemical registration with the EPA Produces ultra clean, clear water Requires maintenance only after usage Terminator
  3. We met him at the NSPI show back in 2001. He was showing us his transducer stereo system in one of the spas. We offered to buy 2 of his spas and turn them up on end in the back of our pickup for a serious set of speakers. He called us "a-holes" and raved about how HotSpring steals all his ideas. Seemed like a bit of a hippy loon. I always make sure to tell concerned customers that our ozone units actually help patch the hole in the ozone layer. It makes them happy to know they're making a difference. Terminator
  4. Lawrence, I'm sorry no one has been able or willing to help you with your situation. This forum is primarily populated by Hydrospa and Keys Backyard representatives for the sole purpose of promoting their spas. There is a much better forum located at www.whatsthebest-hottub.com that is frequented by legitimate spa company representatives such as HotSpring, Sundance, Marquis, Roberts Hot Tubs, etc. I would suggest posing your question there and it will be answered expediently. 6. EXACTLY! One of the biggest hurdles we face as a quality spa dealer is in having to overcome the horrendous experiences customers have dealt with from some of the lesser products and services being offered. Just 15 minutes ago, a 77-year old woman called asking if we could service her Brand X spa. I told her who the Brand X dealer was and that he was the biggest crook in East Texas. She replied that she already knew this as he had charged her $495 to replace a check valve on her spa a year ago. Told her to call the BBB and report the loser, the same guy who charged someone $1500 to move a 3 person spa 3 miles recently. We would have done it for $200. There are PREDATORS APLENTY in this industry and they sully it with their filthy products, tactics, and degenerate business practices. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. My dad taught me that when I was 10 years old...it has never failed to be appropriate. Terminator
  7. I would go ahead and upgrade. You'll be very pleased. Here is a pic of the new auxilliary panel: The buttons are flat. Terminator
  8. Yes sir, I would be happy to. The Vista, Grandee, Envoy, and Vanguard should all be around $10,000 or under. The Aria will probably cost a little more, but I've seen all of these spas sell in that price range. Cover is included, delivery, 220V subpanel, Freshwater III ozonator, Luminescence Light System. Most dealers include cover lifter and steps, too. Vista Grandee Envoy Vanguard These spas should be around $8K or under: Tiger River Caspian HotSpring Sovereign, the best selling spa in history These should be around $7K or less: Tiger River Bengal HotSpot Mallorca I hope this helps and do wish you well on your spa shopping efforts! 9. Oops, my fault. You are right so I fixed it. Terminator
  10. Two similiar spas for comparison's sake: This spa lists for $12,142. Delivery and set-up charges are not included. It can be bought for only $8257 (plus delivery and set-up) The Spa N Stuff Bellagio lists for $14,999 but sells for $7,999. Delivery and set up are included. It is obviously a much nicer spa than the first one due to the higher suggested retail. It is essentially the same spa, but the Bellagio is discounted more and comes with free delivery. Spas are all built the same anyway, so go for the one with the bigger discount. I think the choice should be clear. Terminator
  11. No, no..... call me instead! The HotSpring Envoy is the GREATEST spa ever made! (I know this because I'm a HotSpring dealer and we've been selling the Envoy since the 1800's when they were heated with coal and dead mules) Hurry, operators are standing by! The HotSpring or the Jacuzzi would both be good choices with the HotSpring (of course) being an even gooder choice. Terminator
  12. It sounds like a great deal! It's almost half off the SUGGESTED retail price! They should have SUGGESTED it retailed for $22,000 and then they could sell it for 1/3 the price. Poor marketing on their part, in my opinion. Like the folks always say: "If it sounds too good to be true, just buy it.....quickly before your common sense takes over." I'd buy it in a heartbeat. 13. Word J-Dogg! We be spa pimpin', you n me... Termpac
  14. Jim T. Jim is very wise to quote the validity of the NSF's recommendations. I daresay that I would not even own a spa if it wasn't up to the NSF's safety standards. I only know of one brand of spa that meets these standards: Terminator
  15. Had a gentleman that owned a 1998 HotSpring Classic in San Angelo, TX. When he got transferred to Longview, he traded in the Classic on a HotSpring Envoy we had sitting in our mood room. The Envoy was equipped with a SpAudio and Autofresh water care system. We delivered the spa on December 26, 2006. It was a very difficult delivery as we had to go across a small bridge, but we got it done. In February, the customer called and noticed that one of the Everwood panels had cracked. The auxiliary control panel had also failed. We sent our service guys out and fixed it. In March, he called and said that the SpAudio's transducers weren't sounding right. We went out and replaced them. There were also a couple of other minor problems with the spa. He was beginning to feel that the spa did not meet his qualifications in regards to the amount of money he paid. I agreed with him and told him we would replace the spa at his convenience. He was receptive to this solution. Fast forward to last week: after dealing with his mother's illness, an overloaded work schedule (medical field), and torrential rains, the customer finally was able to finalize the switch. We took the spa out on Friday, it poured rain and he did not want the yard messed up, so we rescheduled for yesterday. Took his brand new spa to him, put in a brand new SpAudio, and removed his 6 month old spa. He is a VERY happy customer and is not out one cent more from the day he bought the spa. Take care of the customer and they will go forth and multiply. Terminator
  16. I'm sure Hydrospas are just the goose's goob to people who don't know any better. On another note, we've been selling AND delivering HotSpring Spas for over 22 years. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF OUR CUSTOMERS HAS BEEN ABLE TO ENJOY THEIR SPA WITHIN TWO DAYS OF US DELIVERING IT. On the EXTREMELY rare occasion that there is a problem with the spa, we send someone out to IMMEDIATELY remedy the situation. If we are unable to do so, we bring them ANOTHER SPA for them to use at no charge. We have thousands of satisfied customers that won't do business with anyone else......why would they? Terminator
  17. I looked at one at a show this past weekend. The sales rep told me it was $34,000. I was not impressed as you could get a real pool and a real spa for that price. D-1 would be the way to go for a swim spa. They are a reputable company and make quality products. Can't say the same for the other company. Terminator
