  1. Good Grief! This is unacceptable. I do feel sorry for you Jennifer, but you are being given the runaround by these yahoos! I sold a HotSpring Envoy to a couple trading in their 15-year old Sovereign last week. After the delivery, the customer called to tell us there was a problem with one of the jet pumps. The very next day, our service tech was at their home and replaced the pump. They are happy and enjoying their spa. It amazes me that people will put up with the type of aggravation which oftentimes seems to accompany the big box/internet spas. Our customers are kinda spoiled. Yes, they pay a little bit more, but they get to enjoy their spas. I would raise wholly hell if I were being given the lip service they are giving you. Good luck and I hope you find satisfaction. Terminator
  2. That is absolutely, 100% UNACCEPTABLE. You should demand your money be refunded. If they give you the "song and dance" now, it ain't gonna get better later. Good luck with whatever path you choose. Terminator
  3. The longer I'm in this industry and the more bells, whistles, and outright silly accessories I see being incorporated into spa designs, I find myself being drawn towards simple, elegant spas. I hope to have the opportunity to see one of your new Timber Tubs very soon. Are you going to have them on display at any of the industry trade shows? Term
  4. I bleed HotSpring Teal, but whenever I retire from the spa industry in a couple of years, this is what's going on my back porch! http://www.rhtubs.com/redwood.htm Hey Doc, why should I consider going with one of the new Timber Tubs instead of something more traditional? Old School Terminator
  5. What a partically strange and unhearded of coincidence....a retired railroad fireman in Nubraska has the exactical same IP address as a mail-order hot tubbin' cumpny! Blasterin' ol' internet is mighty squirrely sometimes! Terminator
  6. My first car was a DeLorean: It looked good with my neon tank top and nuthugger shorts back in 1985. Terminator
  7. All people have to do is look at this: http://ct.bbb.org/WWWRoot/Report.aspx?site...p;firm=25002672 and this: you must be one of the hired guns they use to respond to bad posts on the internet. let me tell you that thermospas is the best sales job anyone can get. salesman make $150,000 plus per year. they are given a price sheet where the par price(the rock bottom price thermospas can sell a spa for with the salesman making only a flat $100 commission)is listed in between the model numbers on the price sheet, it's hidden in between the front and last number on the fake serial number. the salesman can sell a spa for any number they want above par and than they split that amount 50/50 with the company! they usually start with showing the highly inflated "retail" (they don't have any dealers that sell thier spas anywhere close to the high prices they charge with thier in home program)price sheet and than offer you a first night discount called the "factory direct" price.they usually give thier pitch than at the end they do the classic "drop" where they call in and ask the sales manager for a better price if the customer buys that night! its the old tin man routine and it makes alot of money. the head of the outfit is andy tournas and he does extensive training with the salesman and teaches them how to alway make the sale that night, if they dont sell that night than a manager will call the customer a few days later and offer a "special" deal and sell it fot par, its called the rehash program. i found all this out the hard way, i paid way too much for my spa. my friend got the exact same spa for thousands less than me. dont fall for thier trade in scam either, all they do is raise the price of thier spa and reduce it by the supposed amount they offer you for your trade. its a laugh, as i said they have salesman making thousands in a single night, not bad if they can sleep with the guilty conscience. good luck but i would never buy from them again Terminator
  8. I have a couple of customers that own a HotSpring Envoy. He is 6'8" and she is 6'2": This gentleman is 6'7" and owns a HotSpring Envoy as well: Terminator
  9. Why would a spa shut off after 15 minutes??? That would be annoying to have to turn the spa back on while you're relaxing. Is this how all spas operate? Our spas shut off after 2 hours because it assumes you forgot to shut it off. I would hate to have to turn the spa on every 15 minutes. Terminator
  10. Cut the plastic at an angle for more retention strength. Terminator
  11. Are you saying that the company in the news expose is not Master Spa? If so, I would suggest going back and watching the video again. Pay particular attention to the 1:05 mark where it shows a Master Spa banner over the spas. 12. Was he a fat, sweaty guy with thinning red hair that he slicked back? A guy using that name came by my store about a year ago. He was working for Master Spa at their tent sale down the road. He said he was moving down here from Chicago, that he was the regional manager for Dillard's department store, and told me I should buy stock in Macy's because they were buying Dillard's. I asked him how the huge remodeling job was going at the local Dillard's, he acted like he didn't know what I was talking about, and hurriedly left in a spray of sweat. I drove by the tent sale later, saw him sleazing a customer, and honked and waved at him. Seemed like a real loser. I'll bust him in his nose if he ever comes back. It is my Christmas gift to you. Contact Master Spa and maybe they can help. Terminator
  13. No sir! I don't as there is no need. I will give my opinion when someone asks about a brand but I would much rather talk about my spas. No one has ever asked me my opinion about Marquis as the dealer filed bankruptcy 7 years ago and we haven't seen hide nor hair of them since. I do think they make a fine spa, though, as do Sundance/Jacuzzi, Dimension 1, and Caldera. Terminator
  14. Ha Ha! And I have heard a Marquis dealer say to me "So, you sell HotSpring huh? That's one of the companies I have to bash when I'm trying to sell someone a spa." But I think Marquis makes a fine spa and I think it's great that they don't have pillows. Terminator
  15. In all of the years I have been selling HotSpring Spas, I have not had A SINGLE customer ask if water is being drawn through all five filters all of the time. The only two times I have ever seen it even mentioned were on spa forums BY spa salesmen that sell other brands. When customers come to my store, I make it very simple for them to understand: All of the water in a HotSpring Spa is filtered before it ever goes into the pump. Period. There are no by-pass valves anywhere in the spa that allow debris to BYPASS the filters. I show them that when the spa is sitting there silently filtering the water, debris is still being captured by one of the filters and it will tend to get dirtier than the others. It is very simple for people to understand. No deception necessary. I've asked the same question over and over and over and no one ever answers: Is it better to filter all of the water BEFORE it enters the spas pumps, heaters, and plumbing or is it better to NOT filter all of the water BEFORE it enters the spas pumps, heaters, and plumbing. It is the most simple question in the world, I would think. Terminator

  18. I gave a customer some Shiner Bock beer and a Walther P-99 semi-auto pistol loaded with 17-rounds of hollowpoint 9mm ammo to use during his test soak. He used these accoutrements to negotiate a lower selling price. Now, I only give them unloaded weapons. Terminator
  19. I'm sorry Crystal, but any "Best Of" list that includes Thermospas (133 complaints in the last 36 months according to the Better Business Bureau) or CalSpa (75 complaints in the last 36 months) loses any semblance of credibility, in my opinion. Terminator
  20. Vita Spas and hottubs product Warranty Owning a Vita Spa is not only soothing, but also very smart. That’s because Vita Spas are not just an ordinary purchase, but an investment. An investment in your well-being and that of your family. An investment that will provide endless enjoyment and many happy returns. For many years to come. We guarantee it. Limited Warranty: VITA International extends this limited warranty solely to the original purchaser of any L700C or LC500 Series Vita Spa self-contained spa installed within the United States or Canada. LIFETIME STRUCTURAL SPA SHELL: Vita International warrants its shells against loss of water due to defects in materials and workmanship for as long as the original purchaser owns the spa. 10 YEARS SURFACE: The acrylic surface is warranted against blistering, cracking and chipping resulting from a defect in the acrylic surface material for a period of ten (10) years from the original date of purchase. 5 YEAR COMPONENT WARRANTY: Vita International warrants all factory installed electrical components (other than ozonators and optional accessories - (see FACTORY INSTALLED OPTIONS) – pumps, blowers, heater and control system – and plumbing components – jets, air injectors, glued joints, pipes and hoses – to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of five (5) years from the original date of purchase. Filter cartridges, light lenses, light bulbs, (see separate bulb warranty for fiberoptic lamps), fuses, and headrests, are not covered under this warranty but are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship at the time of the original delivery. Spa covers, cover lifts, and dealer added options are excluded from this warranty and are covered under separate warranties from their respective manufacturers. 2 YEAR CABINET WARRANTY: The cabinetry is warranted to maintain its structural integrity for a period of two (2) years from the original date of purchase. “WORRY-FREE” HEATER ELEMENT: The element in your L700 Spa is protected by a special isolation coating that takes the worry out of maintaining water chemistry (pH). Please Note: Whereas Vita’s “Worry Free” element gives added protection against corrosion, improperly balanced (pH) may effect other components of the spa, or may cause harmful skin irritation. Preventive maintenance is suggested. FACTORY INSTALLED OPTIONS: Fiberoptic lighting systems, installed at the time of manufacture, shall be warranted to be free of any manufacturing defects for one (1) year for all components other than lamps and fuses. Lamps and fuses are warranted to be free of any manufacturing defects for the initial 90 days from the original date of purchase. Stereo systems, installed at the time of manufacture, are warranted to be free of any manufacturing defects for a period of one (1) year. There will be no charge for in-home service labor on factory installed options during the first 90 days. WARRANTY PERFORMANCE: In the event of a defect covered by this warranty, notify your VITA SPA dealer within 10 days of the time the defect is discovered. Upon proof of purchase by dated purchase receipt, Vita International or its authorized representative will correct the defect within the terms and conditions contained in this warranty. There will be no charge for in-home service labor during the first five years. You may be assessed reasonable repairperson travel charges. Vita International, at its sole option, may elect to substitute a spa or component of equal value, either new or reconditioned, to correct a defect. Such replacement shall assume, as its warranty, the remaining portion of the warranty on the original product. If the entire spa needs to be substituted because the repair is not feasible or the repair can not be performed in the field, reasonable costs to pick up the defective spa and return it or delivering and installing the replacement spa will be the responsibility of the spa owner. It sounds to me like a simple case of not honoring their own warranty. I don't see anything that says the consumer is responsible for covering upgrade costs. Contact a lawyer ASAP. Good luck with getting this resolved. Terminator
