  1. Don't go for a 20 mil liner it wont last more than 6 years we use 20 mil for aboveground pools choose a 35 mil or 40 mil. Depending on the type of coping you have they should be able to install a liner retainer track just underneath your current track if you dont want to bust up your concrete deck. Since you have a sand bottom reshaping may need to be done. If they know how to measure a liner properly there should be minimal shaping needed unless the original install was done poorly. If you can post a couple pics of your pool in its current state Id be happy to help you with your options so your not getting taken
  2. If you have or had problems with the coverguy.com or .ca dont blame the cover manufacture. Only for the fact that they get their covers from HST Synthetics I have personally dealt with them for 8 years so have the other dealers in our area and in southern Ontario without problems. If you have to buy a cover go to your local dealer or Order one up from Doc *90% of wrong covers are usually from bad measuring or inaccurate info from the home owner.
  3. If you are going to go to your local Cal dealer ask to have them help you with your spa chem education. Make sure they have at least few years under their belt. Back to your UV ozone No it is not supposed to flicker Im not positive if the bulb can be changed in the unit you have. Bulbs are not cheap. For cost effectiveness IMO get a new Cd ozonator. If you need further help with chems or your tub just post up.
  4. If your not missing it dont worry about getting another one just make sure your educated on your basic water chemistry and you be fine. If you do decide you want an ozonator swing buy your local Cal dealer and Pick up a Cal Quest2000 ozonator it has a replaceable cartridge.
  5. Moderate with Conditions -no more deception state your true purpose if one cannot lend relevant info to topics than constant ramblings then next step should be taken
  6. I believe your tub is equipped with a flow switch (odd shaped box plumbed in beside the heater) now it could be 1 of 2 things either your thermostat is toast and needs to be replaced or you need to adjust your flow switch open the top of the flow switch there will be a set screw on the end with a screwdriver adjust the set screw but first turn your dial up to where you will here a click when you adjust the set screw your heater should turn on if not you will need to replace the thermostat.
  7. Now!! get your tub before XMAS. Pricing should be really good right now
  8. not that it is necessary but customers dont mind paying and having peace of mind with us using antifreeze Hey Roger Im only 2 1/2 north of you in T bay you guys got snow yet? we dont
  9. did you open the unions between the heater when you refilled bc it sounds like you have an airlock in your heater where it will read either OH DRY FLO or FLASHING FLO what kind of tub do you have?
  10. Here,s what you need to do must have equipment High powered shop vac with blower attachment, pool and spa antifreeze 4litres or RV if you cant locate the 1st, Funnel, and most likely a tarp big enough to cover your spa. turn off power to the tub drain your tub whateverway drain, submersable pumpl, shop vac use the shop vac on blow ,take out the filter and place the vac hose over top of the intake let it blow for about 2 mins water should be shooting out from every where take the vac hose with the blower still on go to each seat and work your way down the jets water will keep pouring out once that is done suck up all of the expelled water inside the tub open equipment area and unscrew each union then suck out remaining water retighten unions take approx 2 litres of antifreeze pour down filter intake place vac hose over intake with blow option blow until antifreeze starts to come out of jets take anitfreeze and funnel pour small amounts of antifreeze into jets where antifreeze did not come out with remainder of product pour onto spa floor and bottom of seats(just incase wind pushes snow under cover) take tarp place over spa with something weighted or buy a spa cover cap which would eliminate the tarp go slow take your time if you dont think you did it right do it again an extra gallon of antifreeze wont hurt for piece of mind and could just save you hundreds if done improperly if you feel your not up to task its better to pay a few hundred to have it done right than you missing something and it costing you big$$$$ plus you will sleep better at night than second guessing yourself
  11. You can eliminate that by using paper plates and plastic knives and forks!!!!
  12. if those are your three choice go with the ester williams the other two pools are decent but there are better pools out there if you can try to find a year and clearance for this years pool or get a pre spring order in Also get your installation date set now for next year if they can do it or book the set up for march so you are ensured to have your time frame that you want
  13. its just a natural instinct as men we see things and want to know what it does and what would Happen if you pushed the button. But in your case Curiousity wont kill the cat its a spa control pad and you can reset your settings if you mess up
  14. The other filter settings are there for if you are not using your tub all that often then you would change your filter settings to whatever you believe will be enough filtration to suit your bather load. The settings also help for the warm weather seasons so that your tub is not running during the hottest times of the day which in turn cause a bit of heat creap. If you have a Maxxus I would think it is equiped with a 24 hr system so I wouldnt worry too much about the other filtration settings. Im not an expert with the settings on a sundance but Im sure someone else will be along to give you a bit more info
  15. He is funny right now I'm crying bc I was LMAO Jim only you can stop the madness
  16. Thats a pretty good price for that tub I can honestly say theres not a whole lot of money left in that tub for an 06 Saturn Sale price is around $7299 CDN funds. If that tub is located in Kingston the dealer is very reputable They are Part of the SIMA group in which I am affiliated as well. Either way that price is a steal and Im pretty sure you would be happy with that tub.
  17. the two will be more than enough Where in Canada are you located?? If your in Manitoba I would suggest Oasis Leisure center in Winnipeg they sell Pacific and Artesian
  18. I started out with a company that sold Coast big tub lots of bells and whistles they are the company that pushes more jets and the biggest pumps are better not the case while I was there they had more warranty jobs than normal bussines. IMO Highly over priced for what you get I really think you should re visit other tubs again but if your heart is set on a Coast then that is what you purchase. Happy Spahunting
  19. Sorry I sell tubs but continuous is the true hp rating 2.5 constant can be rated as high as 4.5 Break HP which is surge power when the pump first kicks in. 27 jets is sufficient if you've never owned a tub before stainless trim on the jets creates curb appeal no real benefits one way or the other more filtration never hurts Ive been doing research on them as well as a possible second line for our store oldest tub maker in Canada Their smart heater and the ability to custom order extra raised seats has peaked my interest
  20. Since your In Edmonton stop by and see brent at Edmonton Beachcomber check out their new second location as well there are more Beachcombers in the Edmonton area than any other spa because they are better than an Arctic 400+ tubs in a year is pretty good in my book.
  21. As far as I know they do not make custom covers for other tubs. In their covers is an aluminum C channel in the thickest part for rigidity and it is a 2lb close cell foam. The baffle is ok, will not prevent heat from escaping from the middle only slows down the proccess. So far the best design for a middle baffle is on RHtubs nice job Doc. If your In Canada I will suggest HST Synthetics they make a 5"-4" "Walk On" cover as well which has held up pretty well for us in terms of aftermarket covers
  22. You definitely can t go wrong with the 4 corner multi level seating in the Avalon. The seating is designed for everyone of different sizes. The kool seat is another advantage on the Avalon which is a true cool seat as apposed to tubs that just have seats with no jets(not really a cooling seat your still submerged) which can also be used as a secondary entrance. Lifetime heater warranty lifetime warranty on the eliminator wet ends all around the Avalon is a better tub in design and quality. Right now the pricing should be very attractive too as the Avalons just came out a month ago. For the ones we have sold already my customers are very happy. I cant really state anything on the other tub bc im not familiar with the product besides seeing them in a former competitors store as price points to sell Catalina's
  23. The penta is a smaller tub in size and not as deep design does not look too bad but are you looking at the 734B or 734L
  24. Not trying to stir any thing up but if you are seriously considering buying the tub ask if you can put a smoke cannister inside the sealed cabinet to see how truly air tight it still is if nothing gets out you will know the thermal pane design has held up in a normal environment for 7 years if not you know to walk away and you just saved yourself a lot of money overall
