  1. Putting in a 50a is a no brainer. Just make sure it isn't your wiring. The AWG (wire gauge) has to be equal to or better than the current load, and copper.
  2. I'd like a spa dolly, but my wife would never allow it! Sorry, I couldn't resist. But if you know of any buxom blonds in southern PQ, send them my way!
  3. Still no replies? I don't think it's people ignoring you, so don't feel put off. This type of information should have been supplied with the dealer supplied start up instructions. There is a lot of good information about maintainance on this message board.
  4. I remember when he posted this! I got my delivery right after. I like the Moonscape on my Tundra SE. It has some copper color flecks and some quarts color, as well. It stays clean and if you get some build up around the perimeter, it doesn't show up too much. I also like my aquatremor, but my wife likes it quiet. It is cool to work in the yard and listen to my hot tub, though! SteelerPete has some nice pictures on this message board, too.
  5. I think Spatech has the right answer. If your tub is level to the ground, you really don't know where the bottom is located when you get in. Sitting on the side and spinning into the tub lets you clean off your feet and settle in easy.
  6. 50 amp, 4 wire. That means all the way back to the main panel your wiring must have equal or greater capacity for 50amp. You can't run 6awg from your spa to the breaker and then connect the spa shut off, GFCI to the panel with 12awg. You were not specific as far as what he meant by compatible. I have a spa breaker that I bought at Lowes for something like 60 bucks. It runs my Arctic Tundra SLE with no problem. One thing that came to mind, Arctic is built in Canada and when I got mine delivered, the amp was set to 240 and hooked up as 110. I am not sure if the blower is multi-voltage like the amp, just a thought.
  7. TURN OFF THE BREAKER FIRST!!!!! I refill with a filter on the end of my hose. It helps remove the minerals in the well water.
  8. I still have rust colored water! TA is 80 PH 7.6, ish Water looks great when I arrive at my weekend place. I add 1/4 cup of dichlor and ten minutes later the spa water is colored. I added iron out and ran the filter for a couple hours and the water clears up. I arrive the following weekend and add dichlor and the same thing happens! What is iron out/metal remover? is it suposed to work temporarily? If my sanitation level is good and my TA/PH is good, is it safe to soak?
  9. chartreuse! Just kidding! Sorry, I shouldn't be posting from work, so I always rush. It was rust color.
  10. I refilled my tub for the first time about four weekends ago. The next day the chemicals were balanced and PH was perfect, as well as alkalinity. I have an Arctic Tundra SLE with Onzen. So the following weekend we didn't go up to the house because my cousin came in from out of town. The next weekend when I opened the cover, the water was chrystal clear, but I needed to add diclor and up the PH. I had also purchased a new filter and it was a good thing because the old one had expired, CLE on the display. This is where the horror begins! I put in the usual amount of diclor and the water started to turn color. I knew I have a high iron content and had used the proper chems when refilling. After 6 or so hours, the tub was back to chrystal and the chems were in the right spot. What happened? My thought is the diclor released the suspended metal from the chlorine. or something like that. Any point of views?
  11. Off topic, a little: I got in my tub last winter when it was negative 15. I sat back and watched the steam rise and all of a sudden, CRACK! The frame vs the shell shifted from the thermal coeficient diffeerence and let out an enormous sound that had me question the integrety of the shell. In the end, no issues.
  12. Always think about frost heaves in the colder climate. Topsoil=frost, even under the tub. With an LSE, you should maintain a level tub. I live in New Hampshire, close to the 45th parallel and I eliminated any chance of frost by digging down to clay, 18in and compacting gravel to the tub level. I think it still shifted a little last winter!
  13. It says to use only Arctic brand salt in the Onzen booklet. Yes, it is an LSE. No, it isn't a problem to get the salt now that I know where the other local Arctic guy is. So, I won't really need to confirm with the manufacture, yet.
  14. I am in the Manchester area and my tub is closer to Canada, like north of Lancaster. Spa Life was in Goffstown. I have to use Arctic brand salt, or void the 10 year warranty.
  15. Funny thing about the economy. I make about the same, maybe a little more, than I did last year. I am paying less for gas than last year. My grocery bill is about 25 dollars more than last year. All my bills are about the same. Why does the media insist on telling me I am in an economic decline? State of Fear to control the masses. I ain't drinking the Kool Aid.
  16. I went to by salt so I could change the water in my tub and the dealership was gone! There was a number on the door, but everything else was not there. It seems he couldn't last during last winter's slow down. So, I go to another Arctic dealer, about a half hour drive in the other direction but over the Taxachusetts border. So this was last Saturday. On Monday, I get a card from my old dealer stating that he still does warranty work and will support my purchase. But, what a shocker when I show up and they were gone!
  17. If you stand outside the tub and face the panel, the middle seat on the right has a port that is different than the jets. This is your ozone port. It will have little bubbles coming out when it is working. But this will help you follow the hose back to the actual unit.
  18. I used CorrectDeck with hidden fasteners and picture framed the cedar with mahogany. I wish I had pictures of the panels, but what I explained will work. I used a half inch diameter bolt every foot. Picture 1 and 2 are framing of the deck, 3 and 4 are the deck without the panels.
  19. Mine came out really nice. There was a piece of crap poorly built deck that I cut a big notch out of the corner. Since I'm in northern New Hampshire and suseptable to frost heaves, I had someone come in and dig down the topsoil to clay. It was about 18 inches and 12 foot square. Then he backfilled with gravel and compacted every so often. He finished off with 1/2in minus crushed stone. The reason I mensioned this was to let you know that I had a certain height in mind for the new deck. I built the new deck to be as long as my tub on one side and the other side only half way, so my tub sticks out four feet farther than the end of my deck. I also only came within two feet of the tub on those sides and built a 45degree fillet that came up to an inch and a half from the corner of the tub. Now the fun part. I framed a panel on each of the gaps, a long one and a short one. I then bolted the frame to the header of the deck. I bought post blocks and set them on the solid pack and used notched 4 x 4 post to hold up the cantelever 2 foot panels. Oh, I have an Arctic Tundra, by the way. I have a work in progress picture but I'm not sure how to upload an image.
  20. Search this forum, you'll get pleanty. Genisis is the brand that makes the system Arctic uses. They had a big backlog just to keep up with the production of new tubs. Re-fit will be available but might be delayed. Tom normally has a ready answer for this and Arctic related things, but he is away for a while and doesn't always get a chance to catch up. Use the search up at the top/right and you'll be all set!
  21. I have not had power for 6 days! Fortunately, my tub is up north and has missed the ice storm. They tell me my electricity will be back on yesterday in Londonderry. Dog is cold, wife is at wits end, I'm coming down with flu... Hillbilly, I didn't know you were in this great state of NH!
  22. The Onzen was part of the Legend SE package. I have no regrets with this, either. The dealer set it up, I leave it alone, everything has maintained a perfect level for my usage. If I even open the panel and look at it...It might never be the same. That is why I don't go near it.
  23. I lounge in my Tundra, for sure! I stretch right out over the smaller seats with my leg, or sprawl out on the floor in front of the Monsoon Jet. My wife and I were talking the other night about how happy we went with the Tundra. We use all the seats in the Tundra even if it's just the two of us. The higher seats are great for my wife to cool off a bit because she is heat sensitive. Summit was our second choice because you could cozy up in the corner seat. I prefer to cozy up on the raised floor because there's more room. Either way, I doubt you'll be dissapointed.
  24. 12 feet across the deck to the tub. I leave the robe just inside the sliders. I am an amputee, right above knee to be exact, and I use crutches to get into the tub. The other night it was so cold, my arms were sticking to the aluminum like the kid in the red rider movie's tongue on the flag pole. The deck was icy, that is another problem.
